I think something like that would be beneficial for forced fed applications. I cant imagine big benefits in our NA situation.

yah even with FI applications........just install an aftercooler or an intercooler. This thing will have all sorts of water and humidity in the air going into the engine. Unless i'm missing something i just don't get why anybody would installl it.

Ya, it's mainly for any application in need of higher octane gas (to run higher boost). I bet you will get some gains on a NA engine. But nothing earth shocking.

Alcohol injection is similar...

hmm i thought water in the engine was bad.. hydro locking.

if its okay to have some 'mist' cool down the heat and evaporate why is everyone worried about hydrolocking and bypass valve?

the water is atomized in a fine mist that cools the intake charge. most of the water evaporates before it gets to the cylinder.

Mist is OK, filling the cylinder full of water is really bad (since water won't compress like air).

I've heard about this type of setup 15 years ago. It's not new, but it is supposed to work. Has a couple benefits:

1) Cools the charge so you can run lower octane in an engine that needs higher octane.
2) The cooler charge makes it more dense, so you should get more HP.
3) The extra mist helps clean out combustion chamber deposits.

If you ever look at your tailpipe on a cold day, you can see the water run out, so water won't kill the engine.

$500 seems a little steep though. You could experiment by pulsing a fuel injector connected to a little pump......
