Damn machinists. Me too. Although semi-retired seems to be the term used for 50 somethings that are laid off. Not griping. I think your rings look great. A couple of thou press to keep them secure? My last project was brass points to place under my audio stuff. Three per unit. You have a good idea going, good luck. Siezeya.

Could you make the chrome guage rings for a 1st gen automatic?
If so, they would also fit a '94-'97 Accord.
I ordered a set like these but I never got them....and I won't attempt to order from this guy again.
A couple 1st gens have these, and I'm sure you could find a bunch of people from the Accord sites to order them.

To make the interior look purty. I take it you're not a fan of the door sills either.

BC,

I machined the part so it is a tight fit without using glue. Just press into place with your thumb.

jimco,

There is nothing to remove and you don't need any tool to put on these accent rings. It take about 3 minutes to put them on. You will be surprised how nice it looks.

MC222,

I have been thinking about making accent rings for the full cluster but the problem is it's not easy to make because the face of the guage is not a perfect circle. It is impossible to machine on a lath and it is hard to find a steel tube that big.

I like them, but I heard they were too hard to get.

Some people got'em some didn't.

If I can order them RIGHT NOW, and have them in a couple days, SURE, I'll order them.

btw, is there anywhere i could get them still?

Come on kids, this is silly stuff. A fawking ring inside the turn signal circle. How is this not rice? It serves no purpose. Now, if you gonna go put rings around all the guages, ala BMW, then fine, but those little things, pointless.

Might as well put some fuzzy dice and a wobble head and you good to go.

I think it looks kinda funny with a ring just around the signals, but i would take a set that included a ring for each gauge

OK I understand if you don't like it, but leave it be. To each his own right? Somehow it doesn't seem very polite to be insulting him in his very own thread. Personally I'd rather have a crap load of guys trying to make stuff for our cars than none at all because they are too afraid of being called rice. Its $15 for gods sake...let the man have his little pet project and just move on.

As usual the meaning of "rice" wasn't used correctly. Pretty soon all cars that have aluminum tire valves will be "ricers" too.

It's not rice but my vote goes to "silly-looking and pointless".

How about a complete set of SS rings for all the gauges let's say $50.00-$70.00 then you will most likely see a bunch of people interested including me...
01'-S
Focals & Xtant, V1, PIAA/Polarg, Comptech sways, OBX headers...

Well honestly, I was not going for polite per say, just expressing my opinion.
Basically, our dash is all black plastic. Now, how you gonna go and stick two metal rings into the turn signals circles and tell me it looks good? Someone will get into your car and ask whether those are rings from yours?

I stay out of commenting on most of the stupid shit people do with their cars on this site (like cf hood), so I wont mind at all to leave it be. Just figured I back up my one liner from the first page.

I think at 15 bucks, some zaino might be a better investment.

The way I see it is, some guy makes something (for whatever reason) wants to show it off a bit (he might be proud) and the first thing he gets is "get that crap out of here". I understand it's not for everyone, but turn signal rings are rice, but full guage rings are not? Maybe if we encourage him more he just might try, but negative attitude sure isn't going to produce anything. Whatever happened to being supportive of members? I'm not a fan of CF hoods either...but I'm not gonna go around insulting peeps with it...especially board members. But whatevers...that's just me.

P.S. If hchhon happens to be your good friend and was just f*cking with him...then I'm the idoiot and I appologize.

Edgalang,

Thank a million for defending me! I am proud of you! I will tell you these accent rings I machined do not looks ricey at all. This is a very highly polish and shinny stainless steel. After you put them all your dash looks totally real luxury! Guys get your order now. I shipped out 10 pairs already. Contact me hamony.chhon@qntm.com

My response was not even direct at him, it was just a general opinion for everyone. I was not even hating on him, just saying that its pretty cheezy to do that stuff, but what do I know.

I'll give it a benefit of the doubt until I see it in person. As far as full gauges go, BMW does it very nicely in chrome around the four gauges. This is very different.

Agree. I'm down with anyone trying to come up with something new. I'm not getting a set, but props to anyone who's working something out for our cars.

Good work on the rings.

Wild CL,

Soopa is right. There is nothing to remove. Just snug fit with your thumb and you don't need any glue. It will take about 2 minutes to install. Drop me an email if you are interested. hamony.chhon@qntm.com
