The motor must have moved a LOT to damage the flex joint. That is there to... as the name says.. 'flex'! Check if one of the runners has a crack in it.

You do not have to remove the headers to do this. If you're talking about the flex pipe it is near the oxygen sensor. Just jack the car up or put it up on a lift. If there is a leak yes you can put soapy water on the flex pipe to see if it will bubble up b/c air is leaking out of the header and into the bubble. The only problem I would see is that the exhaust is so hot you would burn the water and bubbles before you could see anything. If there is a leak you will hear it or see it. There will be fumes and black liquid coming out of the leak. If you listen closely you will hear it too. Obviously you will have to have the car on to notice this while it is jacked up.

I’ve heard that if you go to one of those muffler shop type places they have a “sniffer tool” that they can point around looking for leaks.
It senses carbon monoxide.

Shouldn’t be too much just for them to put it up on the lift and check.
Doesn’t mean you have to pay them to FIX the problem.

Nice Shawn, another Eagles fan. We're going to the Super Bowl. It's going to be a really good game against the Pats. We got T.O. back though so hopefully he'll explode for some big yardage along with Westbrook.
