Is it possible to change the steerign ratio?

I was wondering if it were possible to change the sterring ratio in our cars? I've driven many other cars in the past and found that if u take ur left hand on 11 o'clock and turn the wheel right to where ur hand is now at 4 o'clock. U would have then taken the steerings to it's maxium handling point, any more and the car would then understeer. But I have found that with a simple tire change from the stockers to performance tyres that to get the most out of those tyres I would have to turn the wheel to at least 5 o'clock.

So what I am asking is is it possible to change the ratio of the steering? So that by just turning my wheel to 4 o'clock it would be the same as turning it to 5.

If this is possible what woudl have to be changed?
