my dads benz just over heated on me! I stoped by my buddies house to drop off some batteries my dad picked up for me and when i started the car to leave i noticed the power steering was gone, but the brakes and everything were still working. THe screen said battery failure go right to maintnance shop, so i started heading home and when at a light the screen said engine shutting down and the car shut down. I looked at the temp gauge and this shit was cooking!!!! So i pulled over cracked open the hood and let it sit for about 45 minutes. Then i started to twist off the coolant cap as the benz dealer told me to do to relieve pressure. As i twisted BOOOM, the cap flew up and ALL the coolant came flying out at a hot boil! DON'T GET THIS SHIT IN YOUR MOUTH IT DOESN'T TASTE GOOD!!!!! well the benz dealer came and got it and they said a fan belt broke. FUCKING GERMAN BASTARDS should have a warning telling you your fan belt broke! But it's a sweet car, how it told me it was shutting down and all. I was rather impressed.

same thing happened to my friends benz. I was following him in my car with my friends when we noticed it started to smoke. He also broke a fan belt and no place had the right belt to fix it Needless to say we never made it to the mountains to go skiing but got to meet half the freakin mechanics in jersey.

we've had 6 benzes, 3 currently and 2 suck ass.

'91 560sel - driven rarely and never abused, 27k miles. It has an electrical problem, the battery will die if not driven for a week. We're looking to sell it soon.

'94 sl500 - ignition problems, just before the warranty ran out. they supposedly replaced everything in the system, and last year it happened again...i almost got rear ended 'cuz i pulled out onto a pretty major street, it died, and i tried to restart it...when the car's not on, the brake lights don't go on. so i'm watching this dude pull up to me doing like 45 and swerve at the last second.

the last one is an '00 s500 w/o any problems...yet.

none of the cars are daily drivers though driven pretty regularly (more regularly than my car), maintained religiously, and rarely driven very hard (except by me, but i only drive it as hard as my cl-s which, compared to some of you, is not hard at all.

i dont know why i never see that color of that car on the street....i think its one of the nicest colors available on a car out there right now.

i got that pic on carpoint.com , it probably costs lots to get that color, cause i see more than 5 NEW S classes everyday in my neigborhood, and its ALWAYS silver, and the odd black..
