no doubt huh....... yeah that's a V10 for ya.

imo I think its tied for 1st for best sound, with the Ferrari F50. 2nd place is the F355...

with the porsche you get badge, and interior. Other than that, how is the car worth $440,000+?, when I can get a GT with like 50 less horse?

with all these supercars these days, I wonder if the mclaren F1 is still considered "worlds fastest car?" I mean we got the zonda, koenisegg, carrera, mucierlago, enzo, etc. Just like the last election, we need a recount!

dude I think we have all read enough threads with these kind of arguments on the various car forums by now. apparently, you have not.

let me sum it up for you - sure you can drop a crate motor in a soapbox and it'll whip the crap out of a million-dollar supercar. it's not about that. but in this case, the CGT will beat the Ford GT, but I digress. CGT is rumoured to run high 10's @ ~130's out of the box - probably won't see this in mags, but they say its possible. Ford GT does ~11.9 @ 123-126, nothing spectacular in this day and age, at all...

ps I heard a Ford GT in person, at full-throttle - it sounded kinda like a milk truck on steroids.. ok but it was a prototype, supposedly the production versions are supposed to sound better. Hey I like the sound of Mustangs with straight-pipes..

alright, alright, I see where this is going, so why doesn't someone just type in: "its still a ford!"

because essentially you are saying the GT40 is a better "buy".....your arguement about your stupid accord in every friggin then thread is CLS owners paid more and aren't as fast as your car....that is how the accord enters into the this discussion.

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...hreadid=115637

familiarize yourself intimate with that thread.....if you can not understand why the carrera gt is worth 440k then there is no point in pursuing this discussion anymore.

yeah me either....... in fact I liked the GT40 a lot when I saw it, looks very exotic, it is fast, low, wide, all those things. But just not entirely comparable to the CGT or Enzo or whatnot... CGT is up there with McLaren F1, Enzo, etc..... To me the new GT40 is still in the same playing field as Viper and Vette... both of which its faster than, though.

Call me crazy and I'm sure I'll get flamed, but I'm not a huge fan of this exhaust sound. Yes, it sounds like an F1, but I like a slighly deeper rumble. I like the sound of Ferrari's better.. Slightly deeper but still scream

This is a hot car though

In defense of the GT40, that statement is incorrect. The GT40 engine is a lot different than the Lightening 5.4L V8. They swapped out the S/C, different TB's, etc. Yes, it is the same block but you cant just go buy it at your local ford dealer

I won't flame you, because I value your opinion. Have you been to an F1 race to hear F1 cars in person?? I think for me, being a big fan of F1 cars, I have a more than a little slant towards any production car that comes close to achieving that sound....

but I have to say I also am a fan of the muscle car rumble, there's a special feeling pulling up to the tree staging next to one of those old muscle cars that is so loud that it shakes YOUR car, and its just at idle... while you have aftermarket exhaust yourself but suddenly you find yourself wondering whether your car is even ON.... yeah.

I've never seen an F1 car race in person, but watching it on TV kind of gives me a headache. I usually have to turn the sound down as the constant screaming of the engines sorta gets to me. They are technological marvels though!

This car does sound good, I just was saying I prefer the sound of a Ferrari v12 and the v8 in the F360 which is slightly deeper.

of course yes i there are HUGE differences but my point is saying that is that differences like that add to the price and uniqueness.

excuse me, but did you just call my accord stupid, out of the blue for no reason? stupid huh? is it just me or was the CLS C A N C E L L E D ???? Since it was such a misreable failure in the only category that really maters in the end: SALES!! GO TO HELL

you paid more for your car than my accord, hell 10K more, but where is your:

dual zone climate control
.29 drag coefficient
drive by wire throttle
elctronic break force distribution
break assist
voice activated navi
revised gear ratios in 4th and 5th
tranny cooler integrated into the transmission stock
remote control and key all in one, ala BMW, which raises and lowers the windows from a distance.

MODERTATORS: I really really didn't want to go into this stupid age old arguement, but this guy asked for it! No offence to all you CLS guys on this forum!
