Polished AEM Intake!
Yesterday I polished my cold Air Intake and I think that it looks a hole lot better. It used to be the regular grayish paint but now its silver/chrome and REALLY shiney. First I borrowed a friends disc sander with some 150 and 180 grit sanding discs. After all of the paint was off I went over the hole thing with 2 types of steel wool. I used a #1 grade (medium) of steel wool first, followed by a #00 (extra fine) grade of steel wool. Finally I went to my local hardware store and picked up some metal polisher. I used the MAAS brand. All in all this probably took about an hour which included removing and re-instaling the CAI pipe....and i think that it looks 10 times better. Also the pipes seems significantly lighter without the paint and when i got home yesterday I felt the pipes and they were a heck of alot colder than usual....soo it might also be better for performance if u polish them....if u have any questions feel free to ask!

isnt the special paint what keeps the pipe from overheating?... so in removing it to bare metal.. youre basically defeating the purpose of a CAI? correct me if im wrong..
