Polarqs again, let's put this to rest!!!

Alright fellas, whats the final call on Polargs m6s. I got mine last week and about to put them in, but I am reading here that they might melt the housing and they are too big to fit, etc. If the factory are 5w and polargs are 18w, this will be tripling the light, good on one hand, but my acura dealer told me today that they would not install them for me because it is not recommended, as if anything else in this world was recommended. I know you guys put them in and not having any problems, at least one of yuz who had them in for over 6 months, can't remember who. Well, Please please please let me know so we finally can put this to rest and I can have a fatter look to my ride. = Thanks

Yeah, me too ! I just received mine Polarg M6's the other day from ordering online and I"m a bit nervous to put them in since most people seem to have the PIAA 19169's which are less output and supposedly safer... It was only a total of 15 bucks for the Polarg's so I'm not worried about the $, but more worried about the "melting" issue... what do y'all think ?

I put the M6's in last week. They fit exactly like the old bulbs, no installation problems. No overheat damage has occured and no whitness marks that show any problem is starting. My lights have been on aprox 1.5 hrs a day. The color is almost a match for the headlights. Go ahead and put your bulbs in, the assembly comes out by loosening the screw accessed thru the grill opening, loosen only it's designed not to come out. Use a flashlight to see the screw. Pop the assembly out by pushing outward the screwside of the housing. Twist bulb assembly 0.25 turn and pull out. Bulb pops out of it's connector. This is soooooo easy if you have a 8in small phillips.

I just took my CL-S back to the dealer to have them put the license plates on and for some other stuff and I had them put the Polarg M6 lamps on.. They look soooo cool! I'm glad I got those, though in the back of my mind I'm a bit worried if their too much output for the housings.. I guess I'll we'll see, but so long to the nasty 5W yellow blubs... eek !

Really, my dealer said they won't do that because it's not recommended, only acura parts are recommended so they did not want to put them in for me. There is much disgression between dealers, I guess some are customer oriented and others are just penis heads. Maybe it's time I look for another dealer.

hey--i'm the guy that posted the 'melting' topic and want to better clarify what i meant: the silvering directly above the bulbs started to cloud. it was visible if you took out the fog assembly (which i had to do to get the bulb out--but that's another topic)-neways, no major problem. i just happened to have leased my car, so i was a bit worried. i had mine in for a couple of months--you could always just replace the fog assembly if there was ever a serious melting issue, they can't be that expensive (i hope)--and it sounds like everyone else seems to be OK. just have to wait until the first 'guinea pig' starts to REALLY have a problem, and then we can all bail to something else.
does it sound like i am pro-polarg now??? you bet! the PIAA's are just as wimpy as the stock bulbs--they just happen to be the right color.

now, aren't you sorry that you asked???

I just installed the Polarq M-6 bulbs yesterday...pretty easy
don't follow the instruction in the manual, where they tell you to remove protector from the bottom and stick your hand up to remove the housing...it's much easier to remove the whole assembly via the front grill and replace the bulb...took me a few minutes after i figured it out

the M-6 bulbs are a lot brighter...it's actually more blue than the headlights and that make the headlights seem white now in comparison...

also, i don't like how the bulb is so blue when it's not illuminated...it seems pretty noticeable when you look at the road lamps during the day

Installed Polarg M6 bulbs last week. Just returned from 800 mi. road trip driving with lights on 7 continuous hours. Absolutely no evidence of overheating housing. Now they are actually road lamps, what a concept. I too was initially skeptical.
