Polarg M6 Question

Hey guys,

I have an 01 CL and I want to replace the stock fog light bulbs with the Polarg M6 bulbs ( These ). I did some searches and read through Chod's write-up page.

I noticed that his page is a few years old and I was just wondering if there was any new complaints about using the M6's or any reason I shouldn't use them.

Thanks guys

Not really. They are still a good replacement.

they look nice but they barely fit in side the hole and you must break them to get em out

^^ There's no other way around it, you just have to break them?

And they won't get to hot and melt anything?

You should not have any trouble. Just do it you'll love 'em. No melting to worry about.

ummm....NO.

You just need to slightly dremmel a little bigger hole and they'll slide right in/out.

If I have any trouble I'll go with the dremmel tool method

^^ I'd do a bit of dremmeling first, that way, when they go out, it'll be much easier to remove them.

I did a lot of searching on this before I made a purchase and found that the PIAA's are much less likely to melt the housings.

Just be real careful, the dremmel will tear through that plastic like a hot knife through butter.

Just some insight. I had the Polarg M6 in the road lamps and just had one go out in less then six months. I wore gloves and all so I wouldnt shorten the bulb lifespan. Wasnt too impressed after they burned out. I now have in the PIAA's and they seem brighter and better match to the HID's.

By the way I had to dremel the road lamp openings to fit the bulbs. I haev no clue how other people are getting them in without widening the holes.

There is no way for them to fit in w/o widening the holes.

I used to use Polarg M6's but became disappointed by what seemed to be a short lifespan. I've since switched to the PIAA 19224's. I got mine at http://store.yahoo.com/ltbmotorsport/pimibu.html for $10.88 for the twin pack.
BTW...for others not familiar with the CHOD link...http://wizardsworks.org/chod/acura/m6/ Good instructions & pics for getting at the bulbs alot easier.

Kudos for getting them in without breaking one! At first I tried to gently push them inward but i said no way in doin it without busting the bulbs. Maybe you are the next David Copper-Field pulling that one off

The PIAA's WILL go in without dremmeling. It's just tight.

I got the bulbs in OK, but removal was trickier. I then used a piece of sandpaper wrapped around a pencil to enlarge the hole ever so slightly. Replacing a burnt bulb is now a breeze and can be done in 5 minutes.

Hey everyone how was your holidays?

Thanks for all the responses. From what I've read on here and other places I think I'll probably end up going with the PIAA's.

Thanks for the help and suggestions!

Good idea, you can get the #19224 almost anywhere, for about 10-15 buck shipped
