Polarg M6

How long are these Polarg M6 bulbs supposed to last? I bought mine about 9 months ago and one has already burnt out. I don't want to be spending $20 every 9 months or so.

I've had mine for about three months and I've got no problems. My original/stock lamp burnt out within two months of having the car. The wiring my be a bit funny. Which one was it?! I think that Acura's may have some minor electrical problems, 'cause I always see left tail-lites out and right front road lamps out. Weird.

Yup, the right front light. I've seen CLs around with the same light out. I just noticed it yesterday.

I noticed that my passenger side road lamp (Polarg M6) is out too. I think I may try the PIAA's next to see if I like them better.

I bought a pair for a friend of mine and one burnt out after about 2 months, and then the other within a week.

Then I found out he had touched both bulbs with his fingers when installing them. No wonder.

Mine have been going strong for 9 months with no problems.

You didn't touch the bulbs when installing them did you?

I am buying bulbs right now and I am getting the M6 for 4.95 each. Just had a question, does the M6 burn the housing? And if so then is it better to use the M2? I know it wont be as bright but I would rather not burn the housing. Thanks.

Yeah, I've lost two of those bulbs since I put them in about 8 months ago and the one that was still working was starting to bubble as well.

I just switched back to the PIAAs--they are a lot easier and last longer. Plus, I'm actually starting to like the look of the stock bulbs that I see on other CLS. That's the way the Lexus' look.

I didn't have any burnt housing, though.

Bulbs
Most people go with the M6's without any problems. They are 18 watt bulbs. The lower wattage bulbs that some people have gone with are the M4's at 5 watts. The closest match to the HID's in a Polarg bulb is the M6.

I'm not sure about the PIAA's. I'm looking into it now.

I'm sure it also matter's how often you have your lights on as well. Imean if you have long commutes and have your head's on the entire way, to and fro.....I'm sure it'll happen more frequently.

My .02, but what do I know.....

One of my M6 burned out too. When I went to replace it, it bubbled up to where it wouldn't come out unless I break it which I did. I heard that the PIAA 19224 are smaller and are 18 watts. Is this true?

Nope, took extra care not to touch them... (used to be a lighting designer for theatre and film.)

If I go with Piaa's should I use the 19225 or the 19224 for the road lamps? And do both of them work in the reverse lights also? I think I would rather go with the Piaa's if there is a chance of burning the housing with the Polarg M6.

So far this is my order: Let me know if this is ok, or if there is something better

M4 - Trunk, Map, License, Doors, Glove
M2 or Piaa 19225 for the reverse ?
Piaa 19223 T-6 for the Dome
Then the fog lamps depending on the answer to the question above.

Also has anyone changed the bulbs in the vanity? what are they?
