it will only go off if the car came with shock sensors, which don't.

It sounds like it just got broke into not completely stolen. :troutslap

That sucks, man! I worry about that too so I try not to keep ANYTHING worth anything in my car. It also helps that the local police station is less than 50 yards from my house though.

I actually set my alarm of the other day by accident. I popped the trunk while I was walking up to it. It didn't "pop" up because it had a ton of snow sitting on it. When I went to lift it up, the alarm went off. I have also set it off before by opening a door through the window after I set it. Very strange your didn't go off.

Yep add a shock sensor or 2. There are DIY instructions in the FAQ. Easy to install I think. I have 2 of them. Any major impact will set off the stock alarm.

The stock alarm isn't to keep you car from being broken into its to keep it from being stolen. In fact no alarm will keep your car from being broken into it will just make the criminal leave faster. Screw alarms just get good insurance. I hate to hear car alarms going off because no body even gives them a second look and by the time you notice the guys gone with whatever he wanted in the first place.

Unfortunately, that's so true. Invest in some shock sensors. And then keep your fingers crossed. My belief is that if someone wants your car badly enough, they will find a way to get it.

Loud sounds don't set mine off. Only impacts if you adjust the sensitivity right.

Just get a shock sensor. The stock alarm will only go off when the doors are opened. This means they can just crawl through the window.

A shock sensor only costs $15-20. I have one and it works pretty well, especially for the price.

shock sensors are the best add-on for the factory alarm...since it will only go off if a door/trunk/hood opens.

since our cars have chips in the keys, the only ways they can steal the whole car is to have a master key or tow truck (to my knowledge).

Shock sensors go off all the time in closed parking lots. You just need an exhaust with a deep tone... I considered getting those sensors but i dont want my battery to die for going off too much.

alarm pagers

Having an alarm is pointless unless it pages you and tells you that it is going off. They cost a bit more but are worth every penny. Someone breaks your window and your pager vibrates beeps and tells u to get your spiked bat. I have mine set up to page when my windshield wiper is lifted ( getting parking ticket ). http://www.directed.com/security/python[/URL]

yeah me along with 8 others on my baseball team got our ish busted...of coarse everybody was so surprised my alarm didnt go off b/c its the nicest out if the other HS kids.
the mofo took my $300 radar and my empty wallet...along with everybody elses wallet that was in their car........the thing that really pissesme off is that what kind of low life POS do you have to be to bust out a bunch of high school kids windows and take their wallets? how can you be that desperate ? that white trash piece of sh**
the saddest part was it was in broad daylight in an empty H.S. parking lot on a sat......with the whole baseball teamabout 500 yards away..geez shit happens when you would never even think about it.

ohh but what really ticked me off is that where they busted it at the bottom of my window they left a bid gash on my chrome window sill piece ....about 4inches long and its f**in deep....uuuhhhh POS

anyways where can i get those shock sensors?

The first thing I bought was a Viper system with almost everything with it plus a few secrets. Unfortunately you learn from your mistakes and protect your shit the best way you can and hope for the best

I only thing of value in my car is my V1, & even that isn't there all the time cause I move it to my Explorer when I drive that.
I learn from others... don't leave anything in your car that has value.
