dont get a bracket they bend and you will still get the rattle... i had the same issue...
all you have to do is zip tie it... this has lasted for for about 5 months now and it is the best mod to prevent the rattle...
also, if you put a bracket around it, it will damage wit because the intake has to move when the engine moves (shifting gears, reving it etc...) or with a zip tie, it has some mobility and it will not break.

but yeah. you obviously need something soft to keep the metal on metal contact. anything you may think is practical should be good. and something less flammable is better.

yea it would for a while but the intake tube moves around so it needs so room to move freefly but still stay tight so it wount rattle... i had the same problem trust me... the bracket held it pretty good but after a while it gets loose and will fall appart because the engine power and movement is alot stronger than the little bracket... in my op[enion zip tie is the cheapest easiest and best way.... the bracket even leaves dents in the tube.

I'm actually wondering if you weren't trying to bolt it to the wrong place. I mean, if the CAI was made for a 2nd Gen CL, it should line right up. Mine did but I had to take a little bolt out of the inside of the fender. Worked perfectly and it has just enough room to move if need be.
