Exclamation please help with M5 spoiler!

okay guys i got my spoiler painted and everything ready for install but it needs to be bent a little to match the curve of our cars trunk lid (its an 01 CLS) and im having troouble getting it to bend enough. what should i be using to heat it with? i tried a hairdryer im afraid a heat gun might be too hot. any suggestions? should i just bend it as much as i can and just let the 3M bond? thanks

horrizontally or vertically?? i reccomend peeling at both the corners get it situated and then pull outwards at the middle so it will match the curve of the back. but mine popped up on me so i dont know about vertical, i thought the 3m would hold it down but it didnt. 2ton epoxy didnt even hold that sucker down, so bolted it in

If you bought a real BMW M5 spoiler then you should be able to bend it to fit the curve in the trunk. Remember to to buy some wax remover and remove the wax on the area of the trunk lid where the tape will attach.

The best way is to get someone to help, even better if you have two helpers.. Attach the 3M tape to the spoiler, press the spoiler to the trunk lid in the center while holding the ends up. Then on one side carefully bend the far end to match the curve of the trunk and press down. Do the same for the other end.

I found that I needed to practice the technique a bit before taking off the tape and actually doing the install. I also put down some small pieces of masking tape to mark the areas where the end of the spoiler should be.

The tape is very sticky and you need to get it right the first time. My has held for over two years now.

you can use a heat gun, heat the piece even and properly.. not in the same area for awhile..

and the warmer it is outside/inside = the better.
