PLEASE Clarify the SRS light BLINKING

Yeah yeah , do a search... But mine is not staying on, it is BLINKING... now this only happens when the light weight girlfriend is sitting in my CO-pilot seat... her cell phone is in her purse on the floor.. either between her feet or up against the seat on the floor... The damn thing blinks every so often... Anyways, who has the solution?.. Does this have anything to do with her seatbelt not being on?? or is her 119 pound ass not heavy enough....LOL.. or is the damn thing gonna shit out on me and stay on all the time, sooner or later?

Thanks for any tips or advise... but I really want to stay away from taking this in to the dealership... My dealerships service sucks, they damage rides...

If a passenger is not sitting on the seat properly, ie leaning towards the window, the SRS sensor blinks or lights up. I notice this when one of my kids keeps moving around the seat. Maybe a warning to sit properly in case the side-airbag deploys.

It is most likely because of the way she's sitting in the seat or moving around. I've seen the light come on a couple of times when someone leans to the side of the seat.

It is just telling you that the person in the passenger seat is not sitting correctly and therefore it is deactivating the side airbag to prevent any possible injury in case of an

YES (side airbag issues next to head) -- just put a small person in the seat and have them put their head next to the area of the seat's headrest (closest to the passenger side door). I've had this happen numerous times with my wife resting her head to the side of the headrest (she's small and light). At one point on a trip, she had the light going on and off to the music.

If your light is ON (not just the SRS test during start-up), someone should have a look at whatever OBD II codes are loaded. Your setup needs to be checked!
