plastic hood guard?

was wondering if you guys knew where I could come across a plastic hood guard like this? I've been searching around and can't find one for the life of me.

thanks!

doubt they make one for the cl. I would just recommend getting 3m paint protection on the hood like i did.

you can see the clear protection film in the pics if you look close enough.

I paid 550, but they used over 20 square feet of the 3m stuff. I got a big section of the hood, a small section on the fender, basically the whole front bumper covered even the curved parts, side mirrors, and a pretty big section behind the rear wheels.

Thinking back maybe i should have gotten behind the front wheels too.

Yea, from what Ive been hearing from alot of people that price seems about right.

Just the front of the bumper, hood and mirrors are usually in the $300 range.

3m is the priciest and best stuff imo. You pay by the square feet and for labor. The work my guy did on the paint protection kit is really amazing work imo. He probably spent 6 hours or more doing it.

for 400 i could get my bumper re-done 2xs

i drive on the highway a LOT and I use my car as a service vehicle and I don't got many chips on the front at all. and besides if a decent size pebble/lil rock hits the front, that 3m won't do jack bout hold the cracked paint in the same place.

if it's was bullitproof (good enough that u'll never get a mark) I'd do it. but 3-500 just for slowing the aging process. I'd spend it on a mod.

you just gotta accept that the front of ur car will get a ding here and there... who cares, that's life.

and if u cannot accept it than the 3m is there for you. but 3-5 hundred just sounds ludacris.

think about it it's nothing more than THICK suran-wrap. how much money do u think 3m makes off that crap. oh the truth would hurt i'm sure

Think of it this way - if you have a smart phone, you'd be inclined to put a screen protector on it, wouldn't you? I know I do.

And yes, we realize a large rock will penetrate the film, but the film will protect against sand, scratches, and any other shit you generally run into on the highway.

You say the $3-500 on the 3m film is ludicrous, I say $500 on P2R plenums is absolutely asinine.

p2r plenums give a tad HP/TQ and they LOOK amazing... i did it for looks. and lemme tell u everyone stares right at the eye candy i slapped on (worth every penny) and i didn't pay 500 that's too much.

I went to the track and had guys with 10 second cars cruise over to my car and look at it for a few mins.

So they're worth it lemme tell u.

that's why i haven't switched to the 3.7 manifold. just looks dull imho in comparison.

So, in your eyes, looks justify the cost. I have no problem with that.

In fact, thats the same reasoning I (and Im sure Brian) have regarding the need for the clear bra. It keeps the front end looking nice, therefore I can justify the cost.
