pissed off at repair shop...

hey fellas... i posted a few weeks ago about my accident with a deer, well its been in the shop for about a month and i still dont have it back... i got most of the suspension repaired at one shop and another shop is working on the steering column and frame... i told this shop that i NEEDED the car LATEST by tuesday 11/23... they were charging me 2 grand to do the frame work and steering column, so i expected them to deliver on their promise... i call today for a status report expecting to hear that everything is on schedule when i was told that the parts wont even be here until wednesday they had called me last week and asked if i wanted to be charged extra $150 to have the parts shipped overnight which i said OK to... so i was incredibly pissed. i talked to the supervisor and he said that he was going to "send a guy up to syracuse" to get the parts this afternoon but the earliest he can see the car being done was weds evening....

god... im so pissed off... i need the car to drive home for thanksgiving... they could've atleast let me know last week that the parts were getting in late so i could make plans...

what should i do? i also thikn that they're seriously overcharging me for fixing the steering column and framework + wheel alignment... any input? $2100...

thanks for your comments...

Why didn't you claim this on your insurance ???
Deer hits come under comprehensive, not collision so the deductible is usually lower and it doesn’t affect your rate structure.
Believe me, I know....I’ve got four “kills” under my belt over the years.

True that! $2100 out of pocket is a lot. Should have went with the insurance company.

delays happen, they probably found more damage the further they went.

Do you want your car done on time, or done right, your choice.

the original estimate was much cheaper... didnt think it'd be worth going through insurance. now im trying to see if i can recoup some money from insurance and im working with my agent.

they gave me a call and they apologized... a guy drove an hour north of here to pick up the parts and they're working on it right now. hopefully i'll get it back in time...

jonesi i should have gotten more estimates, you're right. but i needed the car back ASAP and really didn't have the time to bring it around place to place...

But he goes to school in Binghamton. That's all they have to do up there. 2 extra days will make it a 9 day week!

Yea body shop repairs take a while...I remember my backend got clipped in my 02 Nissan Spec-V and they had my car for more than a Month. THe damage equated to a total of about 8000g's which of course insurance covered for the repairs. Accidents screws up a lot of things....even when I got my car back, a check engine light popped on, the truck started taking in water and one of my rear wheel bearings went out. If they have to do frame work (which what was done on mine) your resale value has dropped and you might get problems here and there from it.
