Pictures of V-AFC install...

Took about 4 hours to install and configure but it was worth it. I love the boost you get between gears and the feel of more power. Can't wait to take it to the track, probably will go up next Friday. I wonder how much better than a 14.6 I can get...

The wire diagram for the Accord 00 compared with the CL helm schematics for the PCM were exactly the same. Worked out great!

Cool...do you think the dealer is going to have anything to say about that? I take my car in every service. Would I have to take it off and stuff?

Can someone please explain to me what that thing is? Or link me to where I can read about it?

Thanks.

Looks cool but I have no idea what it does.

I noticed that your MAINT REQ'D light is on. Is that because of the V-AFC install or because you reach that mileage for service?

It definitely looks cool. Here is a link to the apexi website. They probably give the most detailed description of the unit.

I am at 8100 miles, I haven't reset it because I need to keep reminding myself to take it in.

i have the apex vtec controller on my 99 3.0CL. the dealer wont say anything about the controller, unless there is prbolem with engin. it is not hard to install if you know what you are doing. i tuned mine at the dyno and gained 15hp to the wheels. hey webtoker how do you like it? how much power did you get? it looks good there, thats were i put mine. if you want to see my vtec controller go to www.acuracl.homepage.com go to photo gallery and go to the bottom of page for the pic.

Webtoker, fellow Houstonian. I'm interested in the controller but wanted to know if you can switch the settings off and on. For instance can you just go to stock setting and then to your setting with the menu?

I can't really go stock because I don't know the settings for it. However, I am in the process of making a bypass switch for it today. There are only 3 wires out of the 8 that need to be bypassed. The others can stay because they just tap in for a signal and do not send any data to the PCM. In turn I can keep the monitoring stuff on all the time.

So rank this project on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest. Also your thought about the manual, easy to follow, not easy. How long did it take you to program it and was it easy also? And please do keep us updated on any imporvements you notice w/ it.

Webtoker--it would really be invaluable for other owners if you, or someone else with a VAFC, can post the settings for the unit once they are maximized by a tuner at a dyno. That way others that are interested can purchase and install the unit without spending a bunch of cash to get it tuned.

Plus, I'm very interested to find out how the VAFC affects gas mileage.

Info. like this would be great to have archived.

Do you have a dyno? I'd like to see where you're gaining the 15 horses.

Get someone to scan it if you dont have a scanner yourself. Then put it up on photopoint or something like that.

WT, that is awesome!! I'm wondering how much it costs and does it screw the engine warranty?

I kinda like this install. I'm in the process of building the same thing although mine will be able to slide down a little more so you can see it better.

If you do it this way and you take your car to the dealer, flip up the sunglass holder and bam, no more V-AFC.

This was done by Tanner over at the other board.
