pics of your V1 install location and remote display if you have one
i've searched and read numerous threads about installing the v1, and arguments of where the remote should be located, i know you guys have the 2nd gen, but its similar to the 1st gen which i have, just looking for the best ideas of where to flush mount the v1 itself, and then a nice place to put the remote, so if you guys could post pics of your setup, i'd be greatful, thanks

V1 Location: tucked right behind the passenger side mirror with just enough space for the rear sensor to have a clear rear view. I did the traditional hard wire through to the driver side fuse box.
VI Remote Position: I placed under ashtray/change bin. The wire for sending the signal is fed through the small panel on the driver side of the center console. The remote is attached by by velcro and actually hangs from the underside of the ashtray.
Overall it's a clean look and provides a good 'hidden" location for the remote. Granted you have to glance down to actually see what's up when you get a bogie but overall I like it.
I can post pic's if your interested.

I have my V1 exactly where Linner does, hardwired to the back of the fusebox, and the concealed display is mounted on the center of the steering column. It is not in the way of the temp, odometer etc and it is very convenient because I can check it at the same time as the rpm, speedo, etc without taking my eyes off the road.

I need to take some NEW pictures.
I just realized those are pictures of my older V1.
I have since sold that one on EBAY and got the more compact unit.
Plus I actually changed the way it’s mounted somewhat.
I have a power connector (phone jack) sticking out just below the headliner and a short (6”) line to the V1.
That way I can easily remove the unit and stick it in the glove box for safe keeping.

I used to have the same installation location down low for the remote, and centered up high for the main unit. I found myself looking down at the remote displaytowards the floor, and not at where I was going. I ended up mounting the main unit all the way to the left, tucked as high as possible, and forgot about the remote. Now I'm not looking down at the floor for the remote, and the main unit can not be seen from outside the car. Even if someone comes up to my window and noses around, like a cop might do during a traffic stop, it is impossible to see unless he sticks his entire head in the car and looks up.
Here is another location for the remote down low, but again, I did not like looking down low for the display, rather then glancing up a bit at the main unit.
