Pics of Turbo Install

I am in a hurry... so here are a few teasers. I had a huge problem with my T04E and I had to get a Hybrid T3/T4 today... hence the delay.

Front view of Intercooler:

Install of Intercooler (Note stock mounting points and clean-looking bracket):

http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/gunjan_ra...c=ph%26.view=t

Both Turbos side-by-side... the smaller one is going to end up in the car - the big one is just that... too damn big! The compressor-side is still a T4... so it has enough juice for the V6.

The piping still has to be painted and the downpipe finished... so it will probably be sometime tomorrow or Monday unfortunateley!

allmotor you have all of my respect. I was thinking of a custom turbo kit but i spent 1200 on the headers and i didn't wanna waste it. But good luck man, you'll be the first turbo'd i'll be first supercharged. Hell yeah keep it up

I have Comptech Headers as well. In fact I am using the Comptech upper manifolds (front and rear). The bottom A-pipe will be put away and a replacement A-pipe used for the turbo - I wouldn't cut-up Comptech Headers!

If u don't mind, what was the problem w/the t04e? Was it 2 big and giving u placement issues? How much hp can u make w/this new set-up?

(1) Placement
(2) Even with a shield... the manifold, downpipe etc. was a little too close to everything - I wanted the turbo to be able to have its 'breathing room'... and not heat-up everything around it
(3) I bought it slightly used.... and was hesitant to use it all along. I will put it for sale as a core for maybe $250. Someone can spend the $250 to rebuild it and make it spanking new! It's a $1200 turbo brand new.

The power gains at 5.5psi should be the same... upper-limit of maybe 450hp. The motor will crack before the turbo runs out of juice

It's around the same as the Comptech S/C... but I have a lot more goodies like the intercooler, blow-off, Mugen T-Stat, Fan Switch, blah, blah, blah. I think overall since its a one-off kit, it might be more. I have had two expensive set-backs:

(1) Vortech FMU... replaced by Comptech FPR
(2) T04E... replaced by Hybrid T3/T4

I recovered the $$ from the Vortech... but the T04E.. I have to sell it on Ebay or something!

try sending to someone to host cause you most likely exceeded your daily bandwith and it wont come back till who knows when

would it have been possible to fit a bigger intercooler? the one now looks fine but will it fill the grill entirely?

I did the design and most of the install... although the fabrication is something I just don't have the talent for!

One of these weekends maybe... for a meet. I really don't want to take it to the track until I have dynoed it and have deemed it safe for an all-out day at the track. My wife will kick me out of the house if I blow a brand new car up!

It should fit MOST of the grille... I didn't want to remove the bumper-brace... and you might notice from the 2nd picture that it is curved slightly. This was the widest intercooler that would fit with the 3.5" thickness. If I wanted the inlet and outlet on the same side.. it would be much taller (end-tanks on the top and bottom) and that wouldn't work either. I don't need a really huge intercooler for the kind of boost I plan on running... that would probably be inefficient!
