These pics does not come out that great. It does hot show the true white light and red color. Notice the needles are not that bright? Well last night I stay until 2 AM in the morning to make a glow red hot. Now it's look awesome.

It costed me almost $400 for parts and the hours spent on this project is priceless! I have to buy individual super cool white LEDs ($3 a pcs and I need at least 80 pcs. of them) and soldering on a PCB then mounted behind the guages after cutting out some plastic molding inside the instrument cluster.

The results look better than the LEXUS, BMW, and MERCEDES!

just do that, but use BLUE LEDs. the gauges have filters on them so if you used white it would still look blue. so if you used blue LED then they would be extremely dark blue.

there is another link. just look at the HVAC knobs...is that the color you are looking for? those are blue LEDs behind the factory blue filters.

I'd also love to do this. I think if the whole gauge was dark blue like vw, it would look good.

Just about anything's possible with our gauges. It all just takes time and enough patience, and some trial and error, and you can make the gauges look like almost anything. I'd love to try something with blue/red combo with our gauges.

I remember when i had the eclipse, there used to be an orange film behind the guage that would ONLY let orange light through, so even if you put in blue bulbs you still had orange guages!

do our cars have something like this to?

Yep, we've got a blue filter though. But a little acetone will take care of that pretty quick.

It DOES let blue light through. If you use a white LED, the filter will tint the light a light blue color. Check out ledautomotive.com, they have some pics of what the gauges would look like with just white LEDs replacing the stock incadesant bulbs.

has anyone tried removing the filter, and leaving the stock bulbs in? will they look a little whiter and brighter?

Yes, yes, and no. The stock bulbs are regular incandescent bulbs, which produce a yellow/orange-ish light.
