Pics of the Comptech Supercharged 6-speed!!!

Hello all. I've been a member of your forum for a while now but this is the first time I'm posting. I come from the v6accord.com forum but I come here all the time to read some of the great info you guys have. I was at Comptech last Friday and I took some pics of the Supercharged 6-speed CLS. I was there to talk to Shad, head engineer at Comptech, discussing about the SC install on my Accord. After we finished talking about my SC, Shad told me that I can take pictures of the 6-speed so I can share with you guys. I know you guys have been waiting for the dyno and I'm here to tell you that they already have a preliminary dyno. Shad told me that they were getting over 310WHP boosting 5.5PSI! And this just right after putting the SC on so he said this is not properly tuned yet. I can't wait to see the numbers after tuning! He promised he will be sharing the final dyno with you guys. He told me that this car was a blast to drive and he even offered me to take it for a spin. I declined the offer since I know once I sit on that 6-speed and drive that puppy, I will never go back in my Accord I see some of you guys have the 6-speed but I'm not sure how many are thinking about getting it. They are looking for a Novermber release so it should be here anytime soon. Anyways, enough of the talk. Below are the pics.

Hope this info helped!

By the way, the Supercharger for the automatic will be released same time as the one for the 6 speed. Don't quote me on this but I think Shad said that they got 275WHP on the automatic. Not too bad if you ask me.

Looks very cool......whats that going to cost? $5k or so.

I would be very interested to see how the torque steer is going to be with 300+ hp and low profile wheels/tires. I can't imagine it being that pleasant.

Man, there is such a discrepancy b/t the 6sp and the slushy Btw, do you think adding headers to that will still improve 30+ whp? Or is that tested with headers?

By the way, your camera has a dead pixel a little above and to the right of center it shows light green in every picture!

Shad said the handling was great on the 6-speed even with that much horsepower. When they tested the Accord at 5.5PSI and was putting down 230WHP (Honda Tuning Featured Car), the torque steer was so bad it was dangerous. He said you better have both your hands on the wheel or else the car will either pull to the left or right. That is one of the reasons why they tuned down the Accord SC to 4.5PSI. Once we have our LSD from Vitek, we should be able to boost up again.

I think the HLSD in the 6speed should fight off the torque steer adequately, 310whp untuned is definitely sweet, wonder how the torque is

Cool

That should be enough to frag my auto transmission! I like it. What is the blue and red anodized hardware just behind the actuator/modulator in the engine bay?

Thanks for the info. I've liked those for awhile but never saw them on a CL.

Hmmm. I sure do wish I had a 6-speed instead of a tranny-replaced automatic. I feel like my car is so delicate now and I'm always worried about overstressing the new tranny. I'm not all that interested in putting anymore money into it at this time.

That would probably be a rising rate FPR with a 4:1 rate increase, or something close to that. Gotta get extra fuel in there to support the added boost.

that can't be a comptech drop, and those rims must be real light.

Re: Pics of the Comptech Supercharged 6-speed!!!

Wow! It's a roots blower!!!!!!

I dumped a roots on my truck, and it gives incredible torque off the line.

I figured they'd put a centrifigal on it (being it has problems hooking up stock!)

Wow..... Just a sec, I got some drool running into the keyboard!

Automatics (almost) always loose power transfering the power from the fly wheel to the transmission via the torqueconverter...

The torque converter is using transmission fluid to make two shafts meet via a turbine. (the torque converter is the equivalent for a clutch for an automatic transmission)

No, it doesn't come with an intercooler. They are thinking about developing an aftercooler though. They said once the boost is raised to about 8PSI, the air will get too hot which will then require some type of cooling device. They already have this available for the S2000 so I'm hoping this will be available for our cars soon. The aftercooler will still be a benefit at 5.5PSI so I'm sure we will see more performance gains.

I asked Shad about that and he said that those are Comptech Springs and they're doing something called a "raker" to make it look like that. He told me the details but I forgot. I'm sure you can call Comptech and ask them about it.

By the way, this Type-S now has the Brembo brake kit up front with the big red calipers and it has brembo rotors in the back. I didn't get a chance to take pics but it looks damn sweet!
