Piaa driving lights (Continued) wiring

Installed my driving lights and now I have to wire them. Does anybody know a good power source that is only hot when the key is in the on position? that way I never have to worry about acciedently leaving them on

if you don't have navi, you can use the navi fuse.

I did a little different & tapped into the drivers side marker light. This way they only turn on when the lights are on.

are you using a relay??... if not, its highly recommended you might blow fuses and damage harnesses... use the relay with the parking lights

the relay draws minimum power from the source its like a switch that tells the fog lights "when the parking lights go on, draw power from the battery" (with a separate fuse of course)

Piaa project continued

So what sixgear is saying is to connect power directly from the battery. From that point you use a relay to the parking lights, and the parking lights act as my on /off switch, is that right? In that case I would not have to go through my firewall to bring the supplied switch into the interior of the car. That sounds good however the Piaa instructions recomended not to put the lights into any circuit that flashes with the alarm system. Probably because of the Quality of their bulbs ( I hope).
Does anybody have another option for me, although I certainly appreciate your response.

On the drivers side, you'll find the fuse box. On the back side of the fuse box (inner part that faces the steering column), you'll find 4 different spots that you can plug in a female spade connector. I think they are numbered 24 thru 27. Each one of these connectors has different power supplied to it. I'm not sure which one is which but it's easy enough to figure out. I just tested with a multimeter for 12 volts under the different conditions. 24 thru 27 will provide one of the following:
- Accessory Power
- Power with engine on
- Power all the time
- Power when lights are on. Did not check to see if voltage chaged with dimmer circuit.
