I was up at the dealer today to change my Pre-Order from RED to BLUE and they gave me this small brochure.

Not much more info then we already have, but here you go anyway.
Sorry my scanner isn’t large enough to get the whole car on there.

They told me that they’re almost SURE there will be a Fog/Driving light kit for the car as an option like the RSX has.
They weren’t so sure on the Body kit, but have heard positive rumors that there WILL be one.

Thanks Shawn. I dunno, I dont really liek the front of that. The body color grill make the car look less aggressive IMO. It makes the grill looks smaller.

Yea i still think it is ugly. O well it's all worth it for the 6 speed i guess. If i bought that i would jus replace the wheels wit sum 18's and put my own fogs in.

Nice. Handbrake and inspire style tails. The headlights look different like they blacked out some areas, I don't really like it. The removal of the fogs is a good thing I guess could of given it some real ones though. Here come drink holders round three judging from that pic they redesigned it to a slip down rather than a flip open, I wonder why? Body colored side minrrors are a plus. IMO the shifter could use a little more style/class. Whats with the antenna above the rear window in the second shot?

All in all in looks pretty good. And the six speed would make it all worth while.

Have you been reading all the other posts, like the one on the 2003 CL on the top of the car talk page that is 22 pages :P

The headlights are blacked out, they will most likley have real fogs as an option, they did redesign the cup holders cause they had to redesign the whole area cause of the manual, its had body collered side mirors since the 02 model and the antenna is for the onstar. Any other questions?

O and Shawn, nice job on the scaning....someone else posted that there dealership would be geting there first shipment in the end of feb. (dont remember who)...did you here anything like that from your dealership, or when yours is expected?

This may be a stupid question, but every reference I see about the 6-speed is talking about a 2003 model. Is the 6-speed being introduced in March, a 2002 or a very early 2003?

Anyone else like the 01 rims better besides me? For some reason those 03's don't do it for me..even if they were lighter.

I'm still debating on those tail lights. The more I see bimmers and TL's with a nice white bulb in them in front of me..the more I'd consider getting them.

The aluminum trim is growing on me.......the taillights look pretty hot.....BUT....

The only thing uglier than the new wheels is that nasty ass front grill.....NO CLASS left to the outward appearance of the CL-S.... and thats just too bad...

No offense to anyone who has preordered....

HEY...At least they did make alot of peoples wishes come true with the 6 speed MT and LSD....

I posted the note about the first group of 6mt's coming in Feb. I placed a deposit last night and was called this morning. From what I had read I thought March or April delivery was more likely, but the dealer's inventory manager advised they were already showing up. None had been spoken for and I was given the following list of the first 4 on the way:

Black with Black
Black with Tan
Silver with Black
Anthracite (the only new 03 color)

I've already got black in an 01 CLS. I actually confirmed on the anthracite. It's the same as is available with the TL. The dealer doesn't have a TL he can show me with this color. He said the color is very rare at least on the TL. I figured since I'm crazy enough to purchase the same car twice that I might as well get a color to set it off.

Jaguar and Lexus also run this color. I know the X-Type is available with it.

BTW that shifter comes right from the Honda parts bin. When I had my 98 Prelude, I had that exact shifter installed as an option. Not only that but it's basically a leather wrapped shifter taken out of a Honda Civic from a few years ago. Owned one of those too and so the shifter appears to be following me. It's actually very nice. I found it very accurate if a bit small.

Didn't ask about the body kit or the fogs, but as I posted before they must be planning to make the fogs an accessory. From owning many Acura/Honda products they don't ever do something without a reason. I mean if they weren't going to offer them, I have to believe they would have just gone ahead and redone the whole front end without the holes.

I got the same brochure last night. I was informed it was "top secret". Didn't think that would last long.

The dealers don't control the colors they receive. Acura builds cars in color batches so there's no assurance that the first cars the dealer receives will be in the colors you want. The dealers find out about a month before the cars are shipped as to what they'll be receiving. Someone else posted that his dealer said the first cars they're receiving are Black, Silver, and Anthracite. If getting the car faster is important to you you should tell the dealer you're flexible about the color. Being at the "top of the list" for Blue won't help you if Acura doesn't build or ship any for a couple of months. This info comes from a reliable dealer that posts on the MDX forum. People have had to wait for months for certain MDX color/option combinations just because Acura didn't build any. Just something to think about.

Today i was at the acura dealership and picked up the pamphlet also.

I LOVE THE RED!! WOW. i mean i was really disapointed in the changes, then i saw the red, and now im really thinking about getting the '03. I love how the grill, black lights, and no fogs look together. Looks sooooooo mean IMO. Ugly on the silver. I wonder how the black will look with the body colored everything and no fogs and the black lights, that will look soooo raw. Anyone do a photoshop of Red pic changed to black? (JROCK COUGHCOUGH)

Well the fog/driving light kit BETTER retrofit on the 01'-02' models!

I think I'll eventually do the tail light swap & the blacked out headlights are growing on me. I'd like to see those in person.

you think autocarparts will have those headlights for sale like the moment the car goes on sale? i want those blacked out headlights!!!! and that 6 speed too..but i'll just stick with mine:P

I agree that the RED looks great, but I would think that 9 out of 10 people that I know wouldn’t even notice that I got a new car.

These are the same people that didn’t notice when I went from a RED 91 Legend Coupe to the 2001 CL.
I know that seems stupid, but not everyone is a car NUT like us.

BLUE will be hard to not notice and I’m really starting to like that new interior.
I just hope it’s not as hard to maintain as a BLACK car is.

Don't let that fool you... they all look more agressive in the brochure. I was looking at the '02 TL booklet I just recently threw out. The TL-S' in there were sitting so much lower then the ones you see on the street, mine included. It's all about being photogenic.

The car is starting to grow on me though. I agree with everyone here that the body colored grill is ugly, b/c it is. I also figured out where the rims are from.... the CR-V. They look almost the same....

BTW... good post Shawn, I think the brochure is the only thing missing about the '03 CL!!

Man I like the classy look of 01' CLS way better,

Chrommed grill and shitty road lamps and sliver headlights are more class than this bland 1 color darken healights look (ricy).
