Philly --Anyone w/ headers & CAI?

Hey guys, If there is anyone out there willing to help me test my car out who has h/i on their CL-S , please let me know. I got my headers and CAI (AEM) installed today and they sond great, and the performance SEEMS better-but I am not sure if everything is alright. You see, at WOT - I do have a deep growling sound, but something just doesn't seem right and I don't know if it is just me being paranoid, or if it is a real probem....So, I would be willing to meet anyone in the area who could help me wherever is most convenient for them!

I appreciate any help whatsoever

ps - how long does the ecu take to reset, I assume a couple days, but Im not sure - and will this have anything to do w/ performance increases once it does finnaly adjust?

Thanks for the answers to my dumb questions!

~Mike

Mike,
ZAPATA might be able to shead some light on this to- he came to me with the same problem after he had his headers installed.

I came to the conclusion that pressure levels and resonance in the exhaust headers at various RPM's created different tones in the system. VTEC range and IMRC detonation at around 4K.

With the CAI system- I assume AEM, will sound deeper due to the openess of the intake travel and ofcourse the amout of air going into the TB at WOT.

Sounds like your system is operating normally. Consider doing a dyojet to see some real numbers.

Mike we could meet sometime during the week if you like. What doesn't seem right? Did you reset your ECU? If you let it
auto-reset that thing will act weird after a header install. I suggest a manual reset and then driving the car hard throught the RPM band.

The ECU will take some time to adjust. It seems our ECUs are a bit slow in reseting themselves. If you manual reset it, it will feel like you lost ALOT of power but not to worry becuase the ECU is probably running a little rich in the fuel/air mix and that will cause you loose power. Just give it sometime and you gotta drive hard.
