Normally, I wouldn't waste my time, but on my way home today this guy was really gettin' on my case. He kept riding my ass, coming next to me and accelerating back and forth. Anyhow, we finally hit a red light, and I said to myself, "If he decides to go, I'll give him a few seconds of my time."
So, the light turns green and we both take off normally. All of a sudden, at around 20 mph he takes off. I react about a second too late and floor it. Basically, the reace went from about 20-55mph, so the middle of 2nd gear. By the time I stopped, he was numerous car lengths behind me. I was rather disappointed because I remember someone telling me the VR6's were quite quick. I guess I was just expecting a much closer race. Anywho, that's my story, nothing big or to brag about, just thought I'd share. Take it as you will.

You shouldn't put car lengths on a VR6 from 20-55 unless the guy was in the wrong gear. A race from 20-80 or so and I can believe a few car lengths w/ your mods. Not saying it didn't happen but the VR6's are not dogs at all.

yeah good race, but it should have been much closer. I had a 99 gti vr6 5 speed, and that thing was no slouch. he was probably in second when he hit it, you can run 1st up to 40, if that was the case, you probably would have had him only by a nose.

well at the time I looked down it was roughly 20mph when he and I took off. And when I ended, I was still in second and only at the beginning of vtec. If anything, it was 20-60, but definitely no higher. So I went through the end of 1st which I pulled hard on him and then a little over half way into 2nd. By the time I stopped I was atleast 2.5-3 cars ahead of him. I dunno? Maybe he was a terrible driver? But I was in the sweet spot which helped me. Anyways, thanks for the
