performance chip experience

I did search about info about the venom 400 performance chip. Some say it works like unichip, others say it's garbage and does nothing, and some say you lose power!

what's the real verdict?

I don't expect much from it myself but I'm hoping for slight improvement like the unichip since I'm running out of cheap bolt on options.

I/H/P/TB spacers already so this looks like the last performance mod for a while.

I have no experience with it...but the UniChip for me worked out pretty well. I got 10hp out of it. But I have a CL-P.

Unless you have FI there's no real need for it. You may gain a little power in fine tuning it, but it's not worth the $

I had the UNIchip as well. My butt dyno said it helped, as well as I thought overall responce was better.

How about pulleys or cooling mods for performance gains?

The crank pulley is great! It defintely gave me a smoother and quicker accleration I highly reccomend it. I had mine put on when I had my timing belt change. I heard cooling mods just help you retain hp through less heat loss. The other pulleys are mainly just show and may give a whopping 2 hp.

yeah the venom chip I'm getting was used from someone else with a CL. I need to ask him more about it. fits a CL/TL/accord from 98-02. if it blows then I'm not out of a whole lot since it's used. I may dyno a before and after if I don't feel a real change in hp.

Crap...I'm retarded. I didn't read well enough to note that you have pulleys.

Get cooling mods.

One thing that needs to be done if you get a piggy back chip that it needs to be dyno tuned to see results. Just plugging it in won't give you actual results.
