Parting out, saying bye to my sleeper 02 Type S

Well, its time. This happened much sooner than i was expecting, but its for the better. My 02TLS is currently for sale, and most of the parts have been removed. I drove it stock for a while and its not as bad as i thought it would be. This car is still awesome even when its bone stock!

But i will miss the boost, especially since my next car is an
06 accord ex v6 sedan 6m. Going to lease it for 3 yrs, 12k miles, works out to 295 including tax per month with 1k due at signing. Will be getting the new accord saturday (tomorrow), hoping that i wont miss the tl too much.

I hate to move on after all the time and effort spent making this car a MONSTER in stock disguise. Hopefully some one else can enjoy the SC kit, brakes, and suspension as much as i did.
Because this board is 10 times better than any other board out there, i will continue lurking and posting. We still have alot our valuable senior members here and we can all still benefit from their knowledge!
I hope to sell all the parts through the black market so that they dont end up on ebay, and will post full details and many pics when the time comes in about a week.

Anyone know if the 6m accord v6 is as fast as the 03 cls 6m? Allmotor, im calling you out lol!

the newer accords are nice cars(not saying the others wasn't). Enjoy it and good luck with selling the old parts off the TL-S.

Call Comptech and see how easily adaptable the CL-S SC kit is to the Accord. I'm pretty sure most of the parts are common.

allout, CT doesnt offer a kit for the new accords. remember, i am getting a new accord, not pre 02. i know they have the sc kit for the new TL though.
aveisone, check sig
cleancl, i prefer to sell the SC kit with all its tuning parts (emanage, harness, wideband, etc.) so that the next owner can achieve a proper SC setup, right from the start. but thanks for the heads up.
i dont like the looks of accords ever since they were introduced (back to the 80's), but with a 6mt, it should be as quick as my TLS i/h. Plus the new 06 sedans look much better than the previous 7th gen accords, similar to the coupes styling. Im going to save money on insurance, and getting an awesome deal on the lease of the new accord.

I'm thinking that the new Accord motor may be similar to the 3rd gen TL motor but I could be wrong. I would still call Comptech and see what they know. They have probably had one of the new Accords in their shop and would be able to tell you how similar the SC kits are. If you're lucky, they may offer you a chance to be their Beta.

wow im lae, i didnt know that honda finally put a manual V6 in the accord Sadan. Wonder does that take away any from the sales of the TL. I only ask that because I know if they still made the CL in the 06 and my choice of purchase was between a 06 CL 6mt or Accord Coupe V6 6Mt both fully loaded i would possibly lean toward the accord just because I like the new 06 style and besides the power difference and HIDs from the CL this isnt not much difference than the name Acura to make me wanna spend the extra couple grand.

Dude, are you going to post in the blackmarket? I didn't see anything when I looked last night. I just want the wideband if Titan doesn't take it.

i am going to post in the black market on Wednesday. as for the accord, the sedan just got a refresh and the rear lights resemble the coupe, and this year the sedan got the 6mt.
now that i have gotten a pretty good grip on it, i can give some brief comments in comparison to my 02 TLS.
First few things that i wished would be there is stiffer suspension, auto dimming rearview, hids, and a higher redline. Maybe a bit more punch from the stereo. My tl had a nice 9 inch sub in the back, something which you CL guys dont get. Im sure the stereo in the accord is at least as good as the CL, but as we all know it falls a bit short of "good"
Unlike the type s, you do not get to rev 7200, basically around 6800 the limiter kicks in. And the red starts there as well. This is something i am not used to, as the type s has the red start at 6900 and i would always take it in red before a shift.
This is my first manual, but this seems to have a grabby clutch, which i havent experienced in other cars before (g35, boxster s, and some other crappy cars). I remember others commenting on this before with the CLS6, and i am already getting used to it.
As for performance, this is definately at least as quick as my TLS with I/H. 2nd and 3rd are really enjoyable, and overall i am pretty happy and impressed with the power.
Some shit that really ticks me off: 1. The alignment is off, i verified this on a long trip. I bought a brand new car with 10 miles on the clock to avoid crap like this. Im gonna call the dealer and let them know so that they dont blame it on me later on.
2. There is some mild shaking coming from the engine bay. Its mild but my buddy noticed it the other night and it was enough that he said something. That to me is unacceptable, but its definately not anything extreme or irritating.
Otherwise this car has great value. I highly recommend car shoppers to check out the coupe, its the same price as the sedan. Insurance on the coupe for me would be 700+ a year extra, and so i decided to save my cash and get the sedan. Damn insurance, just because i am young, even with a clean record, they do this crap!

Great deal on the lease!!!! What color did you go with??? The 6-speed is awesome car that's rare as hell. My dealership may have gotten 3 6-speed coupes this year and Honda is not building anymore this year. Our car is out of production so this is the nicest coupe Honda is building right now. As far as the engine goes, I'm no guru, but my AEM V-2 intake is from my buddies 6-speed and it dropped right in like it was made for it ( and make my car sound mean as hell when I jump on it). Congrats!!!!
