What color do you want to paint your grill? If it's body color (which I'm guessing you have NBP) you're definitely best off having a body shop spray it. If you want to paint it like a satin black, just take out the tiny bolts holding it on from the back of the grill and take it out from the grill surround, sand it and spray it with some Rustolium satin black spray paint. That's what I did and I love it. Just remember to put as many coats on it as you can since it's getting the brunt of dirt on your car.

As far as the emblems go, they do sell black chrome TL emblems, just saw a post on it here a day or two ago with that exact question about black emblems. Or do the same as the grill but instead spray it with gloss black and hope it matches the NBP good enough. Hope this helps.

best bet for the grille if you want body color would be to go to a body shop. Not sure what's up with the body shop you went to, but it definitely can be done. Any other body shops you can try?

That's all I did. I used sandpaper and then a scotch bright pad and painted it with satin black paint. Good enough for me.
