Painted bumper, added b-valve, put in recaros, replaced light bulbs (PICS)

Spent the entire day Saturday doing the lil' things to my CL-S that I have been meaning to do for a loooong time.

1) Painting the front bumper
I painted the black plastic part on my bumper like some of the folks on this forum have done in the past (charlesnguyen, etc)

Took forever to mask the damn thing. I wanted to be real careful not to get the paint on the lower grill cause I wanted to leave that black. And I also didn't want to paint over the orginal paint.

Closeup of my handy paint work.

I did the same thing to my Integra about a year ago. But I was painting the side molding...damn I should become a professional painter.

These were the paints that I used. The primer and the actual silver paint were purchased from Tower Paint. You provide them the paint code (located on the driver's door B-pillar) and they custom make the spray cans to match the paint. Since I had a bunch left from doing my Integra I figured I used the same paint. It turned out to be a pretty good match...Vogue Silver Metallic = Satin Silver Metallic.

It's all done. Not bad looking, huh? I think Acura should've done this from the beginning.

I was impressed on how well the VGM Integra's paint the SSM on the CL-S. In this picture you can see where I messed up...slight drippage action.

Another shot of the finished product.

2) Put in the By-Pass Valve for the CAI

I know this is a hottly debated topic...does the b-valve do anything at all and does it hurt performance.

I figured I needed the piece of mind cause Pittsburgh roads have a tendency to gather humongous puddles.

Thanks to ELITE TYPE S for shipping it out to me so quickly.

3) Changed the fog light bulbs

I had a set of the Polarg M4s left over from my Integra. They are actually dual filament bulbs for the Teg's corner blinker. I know the M6s are suppose to go in there, but I thought I'd put them in to see what they did anyway.

It turned out they worked fine. Left is stock, right is the M4

Pic of everything put back together.

The fog that had rolled in as it got dark...freaky pic, huh?

4) Recaro Cellphone Holder

And finally, I received my Recaro seats...well for my cellphone. Got them on eBay for ~$22.

Pretty easy to mount, and accents the cabin quite nicely.

Some may call this rice, but I think it looks unique. The only thing it covers up is the clock adjustment buttons.

thanks for the compliments.

TypeS4Me...
The intake was tamer than i had anticipated. It sounds slightly louder than stock...then when it hits VTEC...it growls like hell. I'm loving it.

Did you say M4 is dual element? Strange! I have M4s all over my car yet they are single element.

I just did the bumper painting thing too. For those who are interested, that WalMart paint someone had recommended worked well. Doesn't have the bluish tint in it, but it is a nice silver (WalMart Aluminum Silver #20012). Masking sucks, but once you get past that, 4 coats of paint and 2 coats of clear looks great!

I'm actually going to touch it up tonight because I like the way Chikai did it (painting along the bottom between the "fogs"). So more masking fun for me!

Yup, your right. I just assumed it was dual because it was in my blinker housing. The diff between M4 and M6 is the wattage (5w vs 18w). I don't think switching to M6 is going to be noticably different, especially from the driver's seat.

Yeah...what can you do. There are no freaking shops in Pittsburgh so purchasing things locally is not an option. I figured I'd help the shop make $8 and give USPS another $5...pocketchange

edit: oh, and it's a cell phone holder :P
