Paint The Wood Trim
Paint The Wood Trim
Hello, I would like to paint the wood trim in my car, any ideas on how to do it? (or even what to google??! -- I tried looking around, are cars are not very popular).
Should I take it out? use sharpie (jk)?! Carefully paint it without taking it out?
Also. What color do you guys think would look good with a tan interior? -- I was just thinking black

The long dash pieces are easy. open your center console and start there, just pull up and out.
that door trim is plastic riveted/welded on. when i reupholstered my door as you can see i was able to take everything off but that part, if you really needed it off you could do so but if its not necessary i wouldnt attempt it. if i were you i would take the door card off, which isnt hard and then mask everything to paint

I painted the woodgrain in my 1st gen with Krylon fusion plastic paint, I used the satin black and was very happy with it. I eventually had it wrapped and molded with real carbon fiber.
I have taken my door wood pieces off before. You have to carefully drill out the molded plastic rivets just enough to allow the wood panel to pop off. When done you can simply epoxy it back on.

I find the most likely place to get a wack is from the seatbelt buckle when ur doing it up without thinking that's metal so I would imagine almost anything would chip off.
Plastidip won't. People cover their bumpers and wheels in it and even years later it looks fine.
