Paint Problems- Does Zaino Help???

So my acid-rain damaged CLP01 black is in the paint shop again, now for roof and front bumper. I have polished, touched up, repaired the sides, previously re-painted the hood and trunk. The scratches and chips are terrible, and I will be repairing them for some time to come.

Once done- will Zaino coatings provide protection against further damage? What's everyone's experience with additives, waxes, etc. to minimize the poor paint issues? I don't want or need the front end bra right now.

Polymers tend to offer better protection that carnauba, but depending on how bad the acid rain is, it may not.

Zaino will not help with chips and scratches. Maybe go with a clear bra www.xpel.com to help with those problems.

I’m a ZAINO nut.
If you look close, my roof & trunk are covered with acid rain and water spot damage.
For an everyday car that’s driven in all weather you can’t really do anything about it.

But if you stand back a few feet…..SHE LOOKS AWESOME. And that’s more important to me then when you’re nose is up against the paint.

Blue is Beautiful- Thanks for the reply

It will be six weeks before I can wax the roof and bumper, but I will give the zaino a try! In the meantime, I'll finish out the touch-up work.

zaino does not work, I waxed and polished with the whole kit 3 times in a row over 48 hours, still see bird shit residue in the paint, overrated

Zaino is great stuff, but you’re asking way too much of it.

Bird shit eats right through the clearcoat AND can permanently damage paint in a matter of MINUTES !!!
Even wax/polish designed by God himself will not be able to cover that up.

i don't think there's anthing you can do but suffer along w/ the rest of us. i tried waxing w/ a polymer based product i've been using for about 12 years. works great on cars w/ a real paint job. but it simply scratches these cheap acura finishes. one of my collegues used zaino on his TL w/ the same results. the paint just sucks. the best approach is simply not to wax at all. all it does it ruin the paint faster. and as you've discovered the paint will get ruined in short order anyway.

either don't wax or just repaint the whole car. but you'll have to paint it at your own expense unfortunately. seems way to costly for a cheap car.

Don't wax at all? Black looks the best, but shows every imperfection. Black has to be garaged and rarely left where anything can land on it if you want perfect black paint IMO. The black on the new RL looked better than the CL/TL blacks but double the price.
My anthracite seems to be holding up okay, but it's not black, I have clearbra too on the front of the hood.

No Wax?

Part of the problem with the paint is that the former owner never washed or waxed the car, left it outside, and judging from the floor mat, his wife drove it most of the time, and did not take care of it. No sexism here, my wife takes excellent care of her legend and my RX-300 when she drives it.

All top surfaces are now repainted, so I only have to detail the sides. I am trying Langka now and hope it will help.
