paint n polish
So ive decided im going to paint my intake manifold black and polish the plenums and top cover.....never done this before so tips would be appreciated like what grit sandpaper etc....thanks...also post some pics up of your intake manifolds to give me inspiration! Maybe ill decide a diff color combo or something thanks!

to polish aluminum use wet sand paper to even everything out.. then use 600 then 1000 then 1500 then 2000 and u and go up to 4000 if u crazy lol..
also fine steel wool is really good too which ends up polishing it a bit.. but what u want is MOTHERs aluminum polish to top it all off. that makes it a mirror finish..
they inevitably get dirty tho... and u gotta go back and steel wool them and then re-polish every few months
as for the intake manifold.. if u want it to look mint i'd sand it so it's more even and so the paint really sticks.. if u wanna just geter done then start from this step.. buy acetone to remove any and all oils. and when u paint make sure u use an enamel paint or something with a hardener in it so it won't chip off in due time
