P2R Test Pipe

Hey guy's, does anyone know if its still in production? I know Corsport used to carry it but I couldn't find it on their website anymore and P2R still has it on theirs but they haven't gotten back to me yet.
Has anyone bought one recently?
My cat is on its way out and I'd rather get this for less money than a high flow cat with better performance.
My last question is should I get a new O2 sensor as well or do you guys think the one I have now will be fine? I know that I need a defouler to not throw a code as well.

What cat are you removing ?
your old o2 should be fine to reuse as long as it's not damaged durring removal. And that the bung on the new one is in the same or close to spot.

the only one... I don't think there is another catalytic converter on our exhaust.
Good to know about the O2 sensor
heres a link to the part I'm talking about

So now guess your talking about a oem cat.
Just going to a hi flow cat was rediculas loud.

It's been months and I'm just getting use to it.
My car also sound deadend so it reduces alot.
I drove in the city last weekend and it was unbearable between the buildings and everyone was breaking they're necks when they heard the racket coming.
If you have any driving like this with the test pipe GL keeping your car quite going by the police they will break they're necks too.

last time I checked you don't have mufflers on your exhaust. Now call me crazy, but I think that may be your source of an overly loud exhaust.

Your right I don't have any mufflers but, between the oem cat and just the hi flow cat the car got 3X louder.
Before it sounded perfect now it sounds like it spits fire.
Yours will get alot louder and the drone will drive you crazy for the first few months.
post a vid when you do it.

Hmm, I've been thinking about upgrading the cat, but I'm worried about it being too loud.

I'm going to run CT headers>cat(or not)>ATLP.

I'm thinking it would be WAY too loud with a test pipe. Probably still too loud with an XLR8 high flow.

I have a TL-P, so my cat is slightly smaller diameter than TL-S. Should I just go for:

CT headers > TL-S cat > ATLP

??

I have completely bone stock exhaust except for a p2r test pipe. The 02 sensor screws right in like stock but you need to get a 02 defouler so you don't have a cel code. Mine doesn't sound loud at all it actually sounds very similar to a g35 tone.

What kind of gains can someone expect from the test pipe?

i heard around 8-10whp.
i was wanting to do this as well.
corsport has the defouler and p2r has the test pipe.
it will be louder, especially with custom exhaust and no resonator/midmuffler...gl and get those vids too

I don't think it would be that bad in the lower band but once you really stepped on it I'm sure people would notice.

This is what I've read previously on this forum and I think with the greddy cat back I have to go on with it I think it will just be a bit more throaty but I have no clue what to expect until I do it.

I'll be sure to put up some sound clips when I get it on.

So nobody actually knows if they still make it or if I can still get it?

I only put on the new headers and my car sounds similar to the G35/350Z tone. I've been thinking about the P2R Test Pipe as well as it's only $100...

i will be doing it along with my single exhaust.
Think I might do 3" axle back to 2.5" to the cat or P2R test pipe...lol

You may NOT want to do that once you hear it. I ran into a guy with a TL-S over the weekend at a meet that had CT headers, P2R Test Pipe & 3" single exhaust w/ Apexi N1... When we got out onto the interstate, the thing was raspy and LOUDER than most civics. All this noise without even going 1/2 throttle. He said that he's going to get a resonator for it to quiet it down, but he said he likes it that loud, but it's just TOO much...

I'm probably going to stick with 2.5" or 2.75" After hearing that thing... It was ridiculously loud. RICER loud.

Also from what I've read on here as well, you would actually lose power by going with a 3" exhaust compared to the 2.5", not enough back pressure.

So P2R refunded my money and sent me a message saying they no longer make it..

what were you going to do for emissions testing? Keep your old cat and put it on? Just get a high flow cat.

I've looked over different dyno sheets from CL-S with different diameter exhausts. There was only 1 with a single 3"; he gained 12whp @ 5600rpm but lost torque through the entire rpm range. Most 2.5" singles that I looked at only gained about 6-10 whp & 5-12ft/lbs (torque was a big jump as one guy gained 12ft/lbs with a 2.5" resonator & 60mm (2.36") muffler but he only got the 6whp too)

I'm thinking if I run the 2.75" I should be fine. Will hopefully keep the torque I have and gain about 10whp.

I found the test pipe on craigslist & there's about 4 on eBay too.

I sticking with HKS - I think I'm going to get the regular 75MM Ti & wrap it with a sheet of real carbon fiber I already have and save $120! lol I like the sound of the HKS over the Greddy too.

Ya I saw that on here as well, kinda sketched out about it so I'm being very careful if I buy through them.

lol that just flows with our cars so well

The ebay listing you were looking at I found as well for AWD motorsports, they got rid of the listing because it was a discontinuted product as well... I think I may be SOL

You could always just buy the flanges, a piece of stainless 2.5" pipe and have someone weld everything together and put in an O2 bung for ya. It's not that hard and cheaper than buying the P2R test pipe.

This may be how I will get the initial increase from 2.5" to 2.75"; expand the test pipe.

I believe Megan makes/made a test pipe too for our chassis. Only problem with a high-flow catalytic or a test pipe I found was the loss of low end torque which is nice to have driving in the city.

How much of a loss? Because I thought it was gains for both HP and torque when compared to the factory one

I believe you gain about 6-8HP on the top end and lose 5-7 Torque on the low end.

To some it may be insignificant but a loss is still a loss in my book

I'm going to take the loss... But after just getting off the phone with the exhaust shop, it looks like I'm going to be running all 2.5" piping to a 2.95" muffler. Their machine is only set up to bend 2.5" and 3" and said if they get the 2.75" pipe that the 3" bender will mangle the pipe or I can pay $500+ for the 2.75" dye to attach to their bender. lol

^ agreed.

Well I just spoke to rick at ksk speed and they don't have it in stock either. What he told me was that everyone that he knew of that carried it didn't stock it they just ordered it from p2r when they got orders so its pretty much impossible to get new.

I am not happy about it having a loss in torque, but i think my cat is getting clogged, so i may need to replace that area anyways, and im not spending $300 on a 2.5" cat from xlr8 unless i totally have to...
I still havent 100% decided on my muffler yet either
Im afraid the spoon muffler will sound buzzy, it doesnt on the s2000, but our cars seem to have a high pitch to them for a v6 motor, so thats why i think the greddy will be better to lower the tone....gl guys on your exhaust mods, its a pain...lol

the HKS seems to keep a deep tone from my experience with even other 4 cylinder Hondas, Subarus & DSMs. The V6 should sound great! Good luck to you as well.

just get your exhaust shop to fab a test pipe. It's just a straight pipe with flanges and an O2 bung.
