The TB spacers are out but they do not come with the thermal gaskets yet. I will have an order of thermal gaskets coming in in about 1-2 weeks so I can get you guys the whole package and the most hp.

~10 Torque for 600? not too shabby I'm so excited to see someone developing products for the J series. maybe cams someday??

Any ideas on install cost from a professional or difficulty for a non-professional?
I have a neighbor with a 10 second 5.0 mustang that he built himself so I am hoping I can get his help and avoid the trip to the tuning shop.

yup, that is pretty decent, someone can spend $600 for a set of cat-back exhaust and would loss torque

I have a few question maybe they were answered, this is a 14 page thread.....

1 - Can these be installed without any tuning? I'm interested in direct bolt ons without the need for tuning.
2 - Can these be installed with the Theromoblok spacers I have now?(intake & TB)
3 - Are these are fully compatible with a 6MT CLS?
4 - What are the gains on a 6MT CLS?
5 - Are there any major drawbacks from these?
6 - Can I come down to your shop & get them installed?

1. Yes, gains of about 10 whp was seen on the CL we just dynoed. All we did was lower the Vtec to 4100 to see the extra gain in both tq & hp.

2. The only potential problem I can possibly think of is hood clearance. Other than that, I dont see why they will affect each other. Not sure how gains will be either since I have not dynoed them that way.

3. My car is a 6 speed, as was the first car to have them installed on a few months ago. Been on my car for months now. Picture on first page is on a 6 speed.

4. Gains were not as great on my car as it was on Brian car. Mostly because my car does not have a header or anything. My car is mostly stock besides plenums.

5. I can't think of any drawback unless you want to keep the factory plastic cover

6. Yes. , but you should purchase from Excelerate.

Thanks for the answers. I'll have to wait till my end of year $.

Are these mass produced or a limited number? Will they still be for sale come January?

awesome i think when i get them i will just do it myself.

But i would like to echo fuzzy's question. Are you making them one batch at a time or going to be mass producing them? eg. will you make 20 or something and then wait for them all to sell and then think about making more or will these be readily available no matter when I would buy?

Taking Fuzzy's point a bit further.

My understanding is that they are currently being CNCed. There is a lot of material and CNC machine time taken up, has anyone looked into entering into a contract with manufacturer capable of casting these? If you could get a couple hundred sets made, they would sell like hot cakes, especially if it turned out that you can keep an appreciable profit with a slight price reduction.

Just some food for though.

P2R is not mass producing them. They make a few at a time b/c they are time consuming. They will still be available in Jan.

Update:

Car has been running great and I've had a 1.5 MPG increase on the last two fresh tanks of gas. I haven't had time to polish up the plenums yet (finals and school projects), but they look amazing none the less. The "butt dyno" is thrilled also

(camera phone picture)

To clear up any confusion earlier that I may have caused here are adjustments straight from the apexi (minus the vtec adjustments explained below):

The additional gains obtained from the Apexi after the plenums were from the lowered VTEC engagement of 4,100 RPMs from 4,800 rpms.

Questions, does the stock plastic cover still fit? And do these come in black? I read they did, but then have not seen any pics of black ones.
I don't want flash under the hood.

Nope, thats the only negative as far as I know.

There were originally going to be black ones (I was going to get black), but there was an issue with the company annodizing them. Ask P2R/Excelerate for an update on this.

that's the first thing i noticed when i opened up my packaging... i can't really complain, i don't mind the small logo, but the huge lettering is a little bit of a distraction. all in all, how many people will really see it? it's under your hood.

anyways, the billet seems fairly thick, so depending on how deep the engraving it, it might be able to be polished out, otherwise when i coat it in black, the lettering will become less distinct.

btw - i also received a number of other parts from P2R, throttle body space, intake manifold gasket, and EGR delete. all parts are quality pieces. very well made.

I posted this in your thread but it's definitely relevant here...

Therefore it doesn't start to lean out the engine to assist with increased output like it's supposed to in VTEC. So, without changing the VTEC unmatch, in this example you would be losing potential gains between 4400-4800.

Nice color display on the Neo.

EDIT: Or has it been discussed and I have just forgotten it in this book of a thread we have here?

(What a surprise, the edit time ran out... )

I was pondering that, but since the thermobloks are already installed I really don't feel like messing with it again.

Yeah, that's how I feel.

Ok, back on topic. I'll probably picking up a set of these plenums. Do you have to remove the intake manifold or can you just install the plenums with the manifold intact?

No the manifold has to come off. Only way to reach the bolts on the bottom of the plenum. The heads are in the way. Not too hard if you had it off before. I could get it done in less then an hour.(complete install)

I'm getting them as well towards the end of this month.

Yeah I decided to sell my SC and stay NA, need to pay some stuff off and what not. Thought I could keep it after having to bail my parents out but that doesn;t look to be the case.

Is there still a group buy price on these?
