OWNED BY LEXUS ES 300 (long post)

And I mean in the worse way possible. So i'm driving to work yesterday around 12ish, headin down Sharon Amity road. When I get to the intersection of Sharon Amity and Providence, the light is green, so I proceed through the light. All of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye, I see this black car coming right at me. I try to floor it, but it was too late. She absolutely drills me in the back passenger side, about 4 feet from my door riight near my wheel. The impact knocked me into the other lane, luckly i didnt hit the brand new civic that was riding beside me. So i pull off immediatly, and the black lexus, as well as the civic do too. Then, this old, feeble lady gets out of the black lexus, and starts yelling at me saying i cut her off!!! I thought for a moment, still in shock from what had just happened, then began to just go off on the lady. The man in the civic pulled over because he thought i scraped him, but luckily I must have just missed him. He then explained to the lady, and to the cop later on, that we had a green light. So then, this crazy lady, says that she wants to go ahead and leave, and that she would just leave all her information with us!!! I couldnt believe she was serious!!!! So finally the officer gets there, like almost a half hour later, and the lady then confesses that she was in a hurry, ran the red light, and just didnt see me. We then found out that the reason she wanted to leave was because she didnt have her liscence on her. What really upset me, was that she didnt get a ticket for anything!!! I thought she would get one for not even having her drivers liscence, not to mention the red light, but got nothing! Anyways, i'm happy, cause the x rays came back on my neck and there was no damage to any vertabraes, it was just a mild neck sprain, so that was quite a blessing! The damage to my car is pretty bad, but could have been alot worse if she would have hit me in the front. I did talk to her insurance company this morning and they said she will be paying for everything, including medical bills and suffering, so thats good at least. This really is just another testament that when you reach a certain age, you should be given tests to see if you can still drive or not. When the cop gave me her information for the accident report, her birthday was 3-15-27!!!!
Sorry this is so long, i really had to vent and attempt to get this out of my system.

Sorry to hear that. I always hate to hear about these incidents but shit happens. Glad you're ok and still with us though!

Is the car repairable or could it be a total loss?

Post some pics if you can.

I hear too many stories about stupid, completely avoidable accidents and people not walking away. It's definitely good to hear that you're ok. As i've been told "metal can always be repaired/replaced, but lives cannot". That lady should definitely lose her license and have to retake the test to get it back. There's no excuse for running redlights, especially when you're consciously doing it.

Goddamn that sucks. Make sure you visit the doctor often and get physical therapy on that neck, so that it doesn't start flipping out. There's nothing like a good ole' bodily injury claim against her insurance to send her rates skyrocketing and to put some extra cash in your pocket.

How could should not get a ticket for running the late with a witness there. You gotta love cops they give tickets to who they want and not to who deserves them.

Yea i was freakin scared out of my mind about my neck. Five years ago playin high school football I broke my neck in our last game of the season. I had a neck brace that screwed into my chin and the back of my head for over nine months, and i was absolulty miserable. I still to this day cant even go on roller coasters or anything like that because of it. Can anyone reccomend a good chiropractor here in charlotte???? Thanks in advance,
Luke

yeah that is definitely some scary shit. your car whatever, but we all know that bodily damage unfortunately lasts a lifetime. take our advice and get some PT and milk that old senile bitch. the cop must've been in a good mood (belly full of donuts) hence appearing late to the scene and no tix handed out.

IF the time of accident and the time he took the tix don't coincide by much someone's gonna ask ???'s

Q.E.D No ticket.

Usually though if there's bodily injury they will ALWAYS ticket the person. I'd call up the police and ask them why she wasn't ticketed.

knock on wood...

I have been involved in 2 accidents in the last 5 years. As part of work, I use a digital camera as well as tape measures. In both accidents, I got the camera out and used the tape measure to measure everything from how far the car is from the curb, to how far this idiot woman skidded uphill after hitting me (80 feet).

When you write up the report for the Insurance company, they are always impressed with the details and not only does it make it easier for them to assess the details but you have proof to back what you are saying. So, carry a cheap camera as well as a tape measure.

Oh! If it is entirely your fault, then no pictures or measuring and lie lie lie through your teeth..
