Outside Temperture Gauge Reading
Outside Temperture Gauge Reading
I am not sure if this has been addressed before, and it is not life threatening. But my outside temp always reads about 5 degrees above the real temp. And it does not matter how long I have been in the vehicle or where I am at. Does anybody else experience this or is this just something with my CLS only? Also does anybody know where the sensor for this is located? Thanks
can you post the procedure for calibrating and/or resetting the temp gauge? the temp gauge in my 2003 Accord reads 3-4 degrees higher and a few times it has "stuck" on one reading for a couple days at a time. the dealer says there's a way to reset it, but it's not in the manual and they "can't remember where they saw the procedure".
i might be able to figure out how to do it by comparing it to your procedure.
tks.

There is a =/- 3 degree adjustment. Per page 22-83 of the (2001) Helms Manual-
1. Turn the ignition switch on.
2.Push and hold the SELECT and RESET buttons for 10 seconds. While you continue to hold the buttons, the display will scroll through temperature settings from =3 degrees to -3 degrees.
3.When the desired correction value appears on the display, release the buttons, and the recalibrated outside air temperature will be displayed.
4. If the outside temperature display is off by more than 3 degrees of the desired value, turn the ignition switch OFF and repeat steps 1-3.
This should solve the problem!
