Outside rearview mirror cracked . . .

Outside rearview mirror cracked . . .
Driver side outside mirror has three cracks in it. Do not know how it happened and the only damage is the glass itself.
1. Is it possible to buy the replacement mirror/glass only?
2. Is the mirror/glass bonded to the backing well enough that I do not have to be concerned with it falling out and scratching the door paint?
3. How big a PIA to remove mirror assembly?
