yeah kinda stupid
instead we get a shitty tranny
i would ask them for the vin of the car that it came out of, also for the engine's serial number
btw: i know there is a plate (with the vin of the car that it came out of) on the motor (i think it is on the back for some reason) that looks just like the vin plate that we have in our windshields, so ask for a picture of that too

To answer your question OP, no, our cars arent stolen for a $300 motor.
Most of them are stolen for the $1200 6 speed transmission.

and the fact i think they only came in a 4 speed auto their entire life (nsx)
but they are similiar than you think, cause they are both transverse engines, but they were used on a completly different engine series, so different bell housing bolt patterns, they "might" have better ratios, but they are going to be expensive as f*** so kinda not worth it at all

Correct, they came with 4 speed autos for all 14 years of production. The 5MT was from 91-96, then the bumped capacity to 3.2l in 97 and gave it a 6MT.
The NSX motor is essentially a FWD motor (transverse), just mounted behind the seats.
But, the motor is completely different (C series vs J).
