Kelly blue book is finally listing the value of our cars. Retail, private party, zipcode 44133, 15K miles
Fully loaded '01 CL-P: $25k
Fully loaded '01 CL-S: $27k
I am not complaining, but sounds a little high doesnt it?

even if thats true, the bottom line is that a lotta dealers and buyers use KBB as their Bible. if KBB messed up .. KBB messed up.

KBB (at least in my area) is ALWAYS higher. Dealers Love to use them for the prices of their cars. They'll sell cars at KBB prices all day.
A little better idea is Edmunds.com.

I just did a KBB check and the numbers were even higher.
2001 CL-S w/nav and no spoiler, in excellent condition.
Trade-in=$26,075
Retail=$28,675
That is in 91301, which is outer los angeles area.
This sounds extremely high compared to what others have been reporting, however it sounds closer to what I expected when I actually purchased the car.
KBB's numbers could be wacked, but I think that there is increasing awareness of the car too. All I can say is that I hope Kelly has it right and I hope it stays up.
In the end I don't think it will affect me too much anyways as I am planning on keeping this car for a good long time.

What are you talking about...???
I paid $33400 for my CLS (no mods) after 20 months... it is valued at private sale vaule of $23,000 ( assuming I do a full detailing job)
So that is at least $10,000 depreciation in 20 months.
At $500/month depreciation I should have better leased my CLS

Are you guys looking at what you can expect to pay for a used car or what the trade-in value is? Trade in value is closer to what you could sell it for.
My trade-in value 20,000 miles, no Navi, Nothern VA was $22,650.
