"our car is fast!"

We don't relize it sometimes, just how fast our CL-S is. We want to get go faster items like headers, or a S/C, but just stock is really fast. I had 2 friends drive my car yesterday. 1 drives an Integra LS, the other drives a civic. All they could say was how fast my car was. It seems so fast if you never drove a car with this kind of power. I was loving it!

To the same effect if you've got out of a fast car into the CLS it's not that big a deal. Say for example you traded an RX7, Twin Turbo 300ZX, Turbo Supra, Z28, Mustang GT, etc.

I realize this whenever I go to the dealer for service.
They use Ford Taurus’s for loaners.
When I get back in MY car after a day in the Ford I feel like I’m driving a Lamborghini.

only when u drive ANOTHER car that u realize how fast it is... otherwise it goes unnoticed

i dont think its that fast tho... enough to merge into traffic and other small feat like that - no biggie and definetly nothing to brag about

It's true.

Before it got totalled, my S4 (modded to 310hp, 350 torque) was fast, so anything I test drove in the lower 30k price range (due to increased insurance costs) was slow. However, just the other day, I was driving my friends stock S4 auto and realized that the CL-S is actually faster. The extra torque just makes the S4 "feel faster." How do I know? A favorite Crystal Method track of mine has a high hat that begins right as my CL-S hits 60 on a certain entrance ramp. Same song, and the hat came in before I hit 60 in the S4 (cause autos are slower 0-60 at 6.1 or so).

So yes, its very fast.

Hehehe...

I say 6.1 to quote what I got on my best run with a Gtech pro.

With the crystal meth song.... I don't know what my actual times are, I just know the type s is faster stock.

Sorry if I misstated.

What track?

I drove my wife's 99 Honda Accord (V6) the other day. It never felt fast before, but now it feels like a bus. BTW, I love hitting 80+ on the on-ramps

Ya, I was driving my mothers 98 honda accord for a month while my car was in the shop, when I got back into my car, woahhhhhhh
all the way down the street, I totally leaped.

It was like I was a new man with a manual.

BTW, I got a nice 2002 TL for a loaner from Valencia ACURA!!!

The best i'll give the car is 'quick'.

Running the car on a stretch from a stop to a sign, very scientific, i know using the cars speedo and my eyes...but it's something i've put all my cars through. The CL-s nearly winds 3rd (an ideal run). So that means...
cls - 106-7, removed silencer, drop in k&n
88 5.0, mild mods 110 (sold)
87 5.0 stock 85, now with paxton blower 85...stupid ass speedo. (still have)
95 5.0 auto vert 95, up to 100 with tuneup, advanced timing, k&n, cat back (mom has)
94 and 97 tbird 4.6 auto, 98-100 catback, cold air, tb (sold)
97 3.8 firebird auto 92 catback, (brother has)
95 trans am 6 spd 118 cat back, cold air (sold)
97 camaro SS auto, 115 stock; headers, roller rockers 120 (sold)
97 cobra, 118 cat back (sold)
99 trans am ws6, 6 spd, 123 stock, headers, offroad, lid 128 (brother has)
99 SS auto, 122 stock, maf, tb, lid 126 (mine)

So the mildly modded 5.0 was as fast, the LT1s even stock were stepping away by 10 mph, the LS1s by 15 or more. I guess these cars i would consider fast...but when i go to the track i'm humbled by many cars in my 'fast' car.

So i guess i'm jaded, but as far as being smooth, quiet and comfortable, the CL-s is surely my pick. I've had/have cushier cars and faster cars but the CL-s is a great package...

I got screwed even worse. They gave me a Mazda Protege with fake wood and everything.

That, after they told me (Marin Acura in the bay area) when I was negotiating that they would give me a nice new acura to drive when my car was in for any work.

Those assholes.

I was having some problems with my lincoln continental a few years back. All of a sudden trans would only back up, wouldn't drive forward...had it towed in thurs night; friday morning call dealership...and they send a car 2 hrs late, a brand new mecury tracer...now i'm going away for the weekend and didn't have time to wait for anything better...what a POS.

Then on the monday after they have a taurus for me, which stunt doubled as a garbage truck with a dent on every panel, burned up seats, and a major foul odor. It was so disgusting. At this point i ended up back at the dealers door in person to bitch. Ended up with a town car at that point...finally.

Like acura they were having significant problems with the trans and couldn't get one from ford for minimum 3 weeks, asked if they could have it rebuilt at aamco, and would warranty it for 2 yrs instead of 1. I said ok. After one week, friday, they call it's done they didn't do anything because when they took it off the rollback at aamco it was driving normally.

Needless to say the saga continued, i drove it that afternoon, used it for our weekend away, 4 hrs away got there ok and then in the morning...shot again. I call lincoln customer service...end up getting the trip paid for, my car fixed at the local dealer, and flown back down to pick it up.

But anyway, they had me rent a car on credit card for which they would reimburse to get me back home. Did this and what do i have pick me up at the airport from the dealer...you guessed it another tracer. this lasted about 3 hrs before they had me in an avalon. What assholes. I have a 35k car and they give me a POS not once, but twice; after screwing up my weekend trip, etc.

So i highly recommend this lincoln mercury dealer in wynnewood, PA (suburban philly). Fortunately haven't had any problems with the acura yet.

Yes, My 80something Escort GT was very fast compared to my 66 VW Bug. I hope that some day my 20xx Porsche will be fast compared to my 03 CLS.
