Ordered Khumos in 235/17

Well, we'll see how they work in this size.

I just couldn't part with all of the extra money when these are only 100$ per tire and have recevied pretty good reviews. My Potenza RE730's are totally shot and have essentially no wet weather capability at all remaining.

If I get any, or all, of the following I will be happy with my purchase:

Longer tread life than the Potenzas
Less road noise than the Potenzas
In the neighborhood of the same performance as the Potenzas in the dry. (I don't care if they are a bit less sticky since our car is a boat anyways and will never handle like a RWD sportscar).
Lower price (about 200$ less than the "inexpensive" Potenzas)

Hopefully I will not have any problems with the 235 size since so many others have been just fine. Once I put them on I'll post a review on my impressions.

TypeSDragoon, I think you read the post incorrectly--I ordered the 235's which are wider than your 225's, no?

The Khumos were 100$ each on Tirerack.com. I don't know what the tread is rated for, but I wouldn't expect to get anymore than 25K from them.

Funny thing is (and this is IRONY to the max), when I left home today I was checking out the lack of tread on my front driver's side tire. When I got home, I noticed that the tire was totally flat and had only 12psi in it!!

Boy, can I predict tire failure or what? Oh well, I guess I'll just have to ride around on the gimpy doughnut wheel for a few days. Yuck.

I had RE730's 235/45/17 lasted 28k miles!

I went the cheap route and got 245/40/18 Kumho's after 16k miles the thread split and these tires really suck compared to the Bridgestones.

I just ordered the S03's and will be happy getting back to Bridgestone.

KUMHO SUCKS (in my experience).

Other than 1sickLEX's experience, I've heard nothing but good about the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712's. Post up you thoughts when ya get a chance JZ. I'm really interested in these as well next spring.

I got right about 22K out of the Potenzas and those babies were rotated every 7500miles on the nose. Even wear, so camber wasn't a factor.

I hope I don't have any problems with the Khumos as was stated earlier. I admit I was a bit skeptical as well, but I swear these have got to be among the highest rated tires on the Tirerack website. Plus, their load rating in the 235 size is 1477 vs 1433 for the OEMs so they should be ok on our overweight cars.
