Opinion on Trade-in value

Hi, I'm trying to trade my car in with a new wrangler, and need some opinion. If i'm asking 17,000 as a starter, is that reasonable? it's 03 CLS, 6 speed, 45K miles, No nav, engine mod is only Comptech icebox, and of course, the 18" stays. Here is the pic

Let me know what you guys think

thanks

when you trade a car into a dealership they go by the Blue Book Value. i took the liberty of looking it up for you and a 2003 acura cl-s with 45,000 miles is around $15,000, depending on the condition of your car. Unfortunatley for you aftermarket parts dont really add any value to your car so it doesnt get u more money but i think that 15k isn't bad

you may be able to trade those wheels for stockers plus cash...l wouldn't let those go with the car

17 is a reasonable starting point... but only for a private sale...

Our CL's (I've got a 03 non-navi 6spd with average mileage too) are only worth 14-15 on trade in...

Your best bet is to try & sell it yourself. Cause there is a market beginning to open up for used 6mt CL's & it a great rare color, & your in the NE area.
Your going to get hosed on trade in. That's how it is. I never understood why trade in was a lower price then selling it. The BS i heard about dealers needing to"recondition" the car is crap. Most good used cars like yours don't need a thing but a $20 oil change & a tank of gas.

I agree with everyone else. Try to sell it yourself. Have you taken it to the dealership yet? You never know with a new car. Maybe they will drop a bit more off the Wrangler.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks all. One reason i need to trade in is because this is my only car. If i sell this privately, i'll be without car until i get my new wrangler...that's not good

In regards to trade in with dealer, i won't tell them that i'll be trading it in until i get the price i want. I guess if i can get 15k, i would be happy.

We'll see how it goes this weekend.

Thanks again all.... it's been great being a member in this forum....my first car forum

Just keep haggling with the dealer. Sometimes, you may be able to squeeze a bit more out of them.
