I miss my Geo! serious. I had that same car. except I didn't have those nice wheels, just hubcaps.

I think that will make an excellent beater. I had the 5spd and had no problems with it up till 80k miles.

There is a lot of noise at highway speed. That was my biggest complaint.

This guy is asking $1500 for it BUT IS NEGOTIABLE!! What would be a negotiable price for this car??

With a car with 145k miles on it, what should I look at?? the oil, tranny fluid, etc....

my friend had one, change the timing belt, spark plugs, check all the hoses and radiator for leaks. Other than that we beat the shit outta that car when we were 16, past 200,000 miles. It was a great whip.

The reason being is that I put an average of 350 miles A WEEK on the CL-S....it has 32k now on it! I rather put at least 250 miles on the beater, Mon-Fri and use the CL on the weekends!

So is 145k bad on the little 4cyl engine??

my dad's 89 geo has 150k on it...shit looking, problems with standard stuff (radiator leaking after 10 years etc), but overall pretty solid

car shakes pretty bad at 85+ on the freeway though

Well known to be tough little cars. If you want the motor to last use synthetic oil for just about ZERO wear internally, keep the belts, hoses and coolant good and tranny fluid clean ( if auto) and you should be good to go. Offer $1000 and settle somewhere around $1200. Just say "I only have about $1000 to spend but I like your car". That should do it.
