I too doubt stock CLS auto will beat GT auto. But I would love to go watch the race. I've never been to englishtown, is it like $35 to get in or something? Do you have to run when u go there or can u just watch? hehe I have a CL-P, p for pus*y haha.

Stock vs Stock & Auto vs Auto a CL-S or TL-S WILL beat a Mustang GT. they wont beat a 5spd man though...unless the driver sucks a hairy ass or CL-S is 6spd.
Don't remeber who said they smoke cobras but ur either dillusional...or you've got some serious mods.
Cobras are quick....especially the new 2003 cobras. 390hp, high 12sec 1/4 mile. Those things are Friggin Quick!

At the track, 95% of CL-S racing are always automatic tranny.
And 95% of Mustang GT racing are always 5-speed.
So in reality, that is the more likely match-up anyway.
My point is that new GT is a much quicker can than the CL-S. My buddy will race modded 6 speeds too, no problem.

I think first off, CL-S auto versus GT 5.0 mt. That ought to be interesting. If that fails, then bring out the 6 mt. Only thing that I don't like is our stock tires which would lose us the race.
Wish I could be there..... Sounds like a fun day as long as all of you take it in a fun way and not too seriously.

Currently own a new M3 w/blown motor (almost replaced). Never got a chance to run it at the track, but I would have expected low 13's out of it.

I just got the latest Car & Driver and the auto Mustang ran 15.1 @ 93 mph...pretty slow if you ask me. If its an auto Mustang the auto CL-S will take it.

The Cobra only comes manual tranny, so you'll never encounter an automatic. In 96, it was rated at 305 HP and would easily outrun a 6 speed CL-S.

Last test I read had it running 14.0 @ 99 MPH. It was either Car and Driver or Motor Trend that did the test.

jeebus, jus do the fuking race already. i think a majority of the people on this forum who've been here a while can admit that a 5spd mustang GT can beat a stock AT cl-s given drivers were of equal skill and road conditions were the same. but you know, when it comes to street races, anything can happen, so don't be so quick to call BS on a cl-s beating a GT.

a 5speed GT is a faster car than a cl=s..auto of course..
it's all about the driver..i've seem stick gt doing mid 14's ..and
TONS of them can;t even brake 15's..
oh..and AUTO GT are really slow for a muscle car ..there are many high school kids here drive auto gt's and think they are the shit
