I don't think that you can buy just the antenna since it's part of the On-Star system.

I'm not sure why you would want to put a fake antenna on your car, but if your heart is really set on it, check eBay or your local autoparts store and you should be able to find some fake antennas that you can stick onto your car.

The roof antenna is really just a cell phone antenna for the OnStar phone. Additional 'guts' of the system are in the trunk, near the Navi system.

Our radio antenna is embedded in the rear window glass. I LOVE the fact that our car does not have a radio mast that wobbles and makes noise or a mechanical system that will eventually break.

YUP.....And since my ONSTAR has expired and I’m too cheap to renew it, I’m gonna hack into the wiring and run it to my cell phone car kit for better in-car reception.

Great idea! You gotta post that upgrade. I really like the OnStar system, but they really need to drop the price a bit to make it competitive with other celluar providers.

I bought my car on March 15 and have yet to start the onstar service by signing up. I got a letter a few weeks ago but i forgot about it. Which button do you press and what info do they ask of ya??

Press the OnStar button. I think they asked for a credit card number for their 'system'. They'll also ask for a PIN that you designate.

You get 30 free minutes of talk time and then pay through the nose after that (I think about 30 or 40 cents/minute for most packages).

You get unlimited 'basic' OnStar service (unlock doors, flash horn, theft tracking...).

I like the system so much that I continue to pay for it, but I do admit that it's expensive.

Mine was set up at the dealer the day I bought the car.
That’s the way they should have done it.
I thought this was part of the delivery process.

I agree, they should have a “basic” package consisting of lockout service, airbag notification, help button & theft recovery tracking.
Offer this package for 79 or 89 dollars a year and I bet almost everyone would stay a subscriber.
I don’t need concierge service, travel directions or cell minutes. Just give me the basics.

200 a year is WAY too much.

Biggest reason I didn't get a navi on the 03. I wanted one & regretted not getting it on the 02. Once I had to take that OnStar crap, if I wanted it, I passed. I hate that antenna thing too.
