One of us MADE IT INTO C&D!!
Bill Cuomo! Come on, speak up. Take a bow. Because you my friend (he's got to know but so what) have made it into Car & Driver!
Great letter and thanks for mentioning 260.com. Follows below is his letter.

Okay, I think I've got it. "The Type S," you write, "is so undeniably good, so well-produced, so good at the process of being what it is supposed to be that it has left us utterly unmoved" ["Acura 3.2CL," December 2000]. So, you want something less good? As an owner of a Type S, I have to take issue since I have owned three Porsches, two BMWs, two SHOs, one Supra, two LSC Mk VlIs, one Mustang GT, one Cobra, and numerous other vehicles and have dealt with the realities of everyday driving in each of these. Yes, the Acura is a front-driver, and yes, it has no manual, but it is an absolute joy to drive and is definitely fun "at the limit" and leaves me feeling "moved," albeit in a less coarse or flashy manner than you at CID would apparently like. Call it the difference between chrome and platinum. It has personality, which Japanese cars have heretofore been without, in my book. So sue me.
Many of the enthusiastic owners at our forum (260hp.com) report 0-to-60 times of six seconds or under with only the addition of aftermarket headers, and eating BMWs for lunch on a daily basis. Want stiffer? Go with springs and heavier antiroll bars. Want faster? Go with headers and a K & N.

I'm pretty sure that if you check the posts a few days back someone already claimed responsibility. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Please have a crane drop on my car so I have to buy a new CL-S. But wait till I'm not in the car. Thanks

Guilty as charged ! Thanks guys, my pleasure to rip them a new one for the BS they wrote. Obviously they wouldn't know a good car if they drove it (unless it said "BMW") and none of the staffers at C&D even drives a BMW. One editor doesn't even drive!!!!!!!!

Man, I can't believe they printed that. C&D....however good....tends to be a bit elitest. I seldom see any adversarial letter printed unless it has some stupid comeback from "Ed."
Again, thank you.

Just got my MT MArch issue through the mail yesterday and did anyone else notice that they clocked the 330xi at 5.8 sec for 0-60???? the car weighs 3540 lbs.. a little more than the stock CL-S.. albeit it has a manny.. but 225 hp and 214 ft-lbs of torque can carry that thing to 60 in under 6 seconds???? Any comments or info further on this from other people on this board would be helpful...

I saw that too. The lighter 330I/330Ci have both been clocked at around 6.1-6.2 seconds so I'm a bit skeptical as well. You could make the argument that they're getting incredible traction with the 4WD, but you would think the extra weight would offset that enhancement. Plus, its MT... they always get the fastest times. They got 6.4 for us and no one else has so far. Hell, they got a stock TL to do 6.7 - that's even more unbelievable IMHO.

Nice!!!! Congrats! About time one of these mags printed something about eiher the TL or CL. I've written to MT about my TL being modded and how I can take a Bimmer 330Ci and they actually replied! about 3 months ago. The letter said "...sure Comptech makes great aftermarket parts for Acura...(then yadi yadi yadi) but you should test drive a Dinan fitted 330Ci before you start thrashing the BMW line..." I was like WTF! I was going to reply but I knew what the answer was going to be...somewhere in the lines of "if your motor breaks due to your CT headers then you're screwed! If the 330Ci's motor breaks due to the Dinan parts BMW will still warranty it. All said and done my letter still didn't get printed...BASTARDS!!!
