One of my friends totaled her IS300!!! :(
last night at 4 in da morning on santa monica and la brea. she hit a pole going like 50 (so she says) with 3 other people in the car. they are all ok, minor cuts and bruses and some neck/back pain, but nothing too serious. the car is FUCKED! BUT they didnt end up dying so i guess thats what really matters. she said shes going to get a audi a4 2.8 quatro (which i'll get to drive
) or another IS...

i've seen a bunch of those things mangled already at our dealership - they seem to be a magnet for accidents
good thing nobody was seriously hurt though

Must be that they are rear wheel and fun to drive so they go and over-extend their capabilities on the twisties.
Does the IS300 have a VSA-like system? Maybe that's the difference...

But frankly, nobody who pushes their IS can bear to have either of these things enabled. They're just too intrusive to making your way around a corner smartly and general enjoyment.
Besides the one accident that I played a part in (which was due to a combination of factors, not compensating correctly for RWD oversteer I suspect being one of them; maybe VSC qould have helped in that case), I really don't know why we're having the sudden spate of totals. Perhaps because everyone is getting ready for the 2002 manual, which is coming out in 10 days? :p
