Once and for all....

... can somebody please answer this simple question: "Which parts of the car are leather?"

Yes, I did do a search but I came up with different answers (eg. "only the seating surfaces are leather" or "seating and headrests" or "only the parts that are performated."

What I'm wondering is exactly which parts are leather. The headrest? The armrest? The door inserts? Only the perforated parts of the seats? The Type S shift knob? The perforated part of the steering wheel or the whole thing? The sides of the seats have stretch marks like leather, but I don't think they are?

Any help is appreciated!

Leather on the seat bolsters, steering wheel, shift knob, shift boot and headrests. Everything else is fake.... anyone else wish to chime in?.. I am not 100% sure but that is my educated guess.

I wish!!!!! Nope, just was cleaning the inside of my baby and wanted to make sure I was using the Lexol leather cleaner & conditioner on the leather and the Mother's Vinyl Protectant on the vinyl, and not the other way around.....

rub your fingers across the seats and you can feel where the vinyl starts.

For the seats, I use the ZAINO Leather treatment on everything that isn’t bolted to the carpet.

My OEM shift boot was not real leather. My new one is.

i was talking about the center console lid.

the seats are leather, everything but the front of the bottom part and the top of the upper part.

it's easy to tell just by looking at /feeling it.

That's what I thought too, but some parts I just wasn't sure about...

So I'll go with LEATHER being:
= Seat bolsters
= Steering wheel (all round or just perforated part?)
= shift boot and knob
= headrests
= door trim
= center console lid

Thanks for the site!

Where it says
"Leather faced front seats with leatherette side and back
Leather faced rear seats with leatherette side and back"

I assume "leatherette" is basically leather-like vinyl?

Too many uncertainties on which parts are leather. How about this question then...are there any good, decent leather cleaners and conditioners that are safe for vinyl surfaces as well? Does Zaino leave any residue behind on vinyl surfaces and the dash?

I don’t use ANYTHING on the dash & steering wheel.
All I do is blow off the dust from the dash & instrument cluster with the hose from my air compressor and then wipe off the top of the dash with a water-damp “Absorber”.
I never do anything to the wheel.

OH….
And I always use my CoverCraft windshield sun visor when parking in the sun and my side windows are tinted so I’m not too worried about UV damage.
