Is it true that there will also be an in-car view like they have on Forza 3?

 

why has this turned into a cl bashing and jacob bashing thread. sigh no point looking at this thread anymore.

 

I'm sure it will as GT5 Prologue that I have does the in-car views. Some of the cars have a very narrow field of view. There are some I will race that way and some not. I ussually use the front bumper view.

Dont have the shifter hooked up atm, but this thing makes racing sims 100 times more fun than regular controller.

Yea. IIRC the "premium" cars get a fully detailed interior while the others dont. Im not sure what the others will look like though.

Brian and Street - Nice setups. I really want a projector but I dont have the space for one yet. Ive got a 56" Samsung thats pretty good though. Ive got the Logitech G25 wheel too. That thing is amazing. I built a shitty stand for it but I want to do something like this guy:

A cage would be nice but i dont have the room. I just picked up my copy of gt5. After looking at some of the reviews it didnt score as high as I expected but should still be amazing.

 

Mine just came in. Im running the update at the moment then installing it.

 

after seeing some of these set ups I think I need to do something like this lol.

Can someone please make a video of the CLS in Gran turismo and film the in-car view? I want to see it.

 

The CL will most likely be one of the not so detailed cars in the game. They put alot more work into the high end cars and supposedly there is a big difference in quality between cars.

Btw took me an hour to install the game, then i tried getting my wheel to work, to find out my wheel dsnt work and i need to buy a kit for $40 to upgrade it to version 2. Wheel works on NFS shift and GT5 prologue but not gt5 sucks I will have to wait a month to play this now.

 

So far I'm not real sure if the game was worth the long wait and all the delays. I'm hoping it will grow on me.

Does anyone know if we can race each other on line? Like If I wanted to race just someone from here. Like a 2 person race, not a whole track full of people.

 

Yea, Im not entirely sold on the game either. It beats Forza if you base it solely on content, but Forzas gameplay seems much better. Not to mention I think the menus in GT5 are stupid and it takes forever to load.

It took about an hour to install the game for me too. It sat at 45 seconds remaining for 8 minutes then dropped to 3 seconds and sat there for another 4 minutes.

One thing that pisses me off about the premium cars and standard cars - there are older S2000s in the used car dealer that are considered standard cars, so they dont have a modeled interior and you arent able to change the wheels (seriously). Yet, there are other S2000s in the game that have the full interior modeled. They could have removed all standard versions of the premium cars and tossed in other cars that are currently missing along with full interiors and no one would complain about it.

And when you first start off in the game not all of the cars or tracks are available. The 03 CL happens to be unavailable. I saw the 01 in the used car dealer but its a standard car. Im hoping the 03 is a premium car.

man why am i not so thrilled about GT any more? Its like i have completely lost it for games.

 

I did not even see the CLS in teh game. The only Acura in the dealership was the NSX.

Where is the CLS? Arcade mode? I have not looked in the arcade mode yet. Not happy with the car selection in the non-arcade mode (forgot what it is called).

I also think its stupid that you have to take cars off the truck and put them in your garage before you can see them. That and yes the load times are super slow. Not happy with it yet. I did not load it to the HDD yet.

Not all the cars are available in the dealership yet. Even the CRX isnt available yet (I expected that to be one of the first available). And the arcade mode kind of sucks. Ive also noticed thats you really need a steering wheel to enjoy the game. The controller sucks. I need to build my new stand because the current one isnt cutting it.

 

So some cars wont even be shown? I know GT4 you could at least see them, but they were unavalible. Thats queer!

 

Yep. It is. Theres supposed to be 1000 cars total, but at the moment theres maybe 200 by a rough estimation. I wish they would at least show. I need to look at the book to see if it says anything about when the cars become available.

 

Yea, at first I was like WTF! Wish they had a 2wd Tacoma in there! hahahh I done with it for tonight. I just got COD yesterday, so I'll be on that tonight.

Oh and I don't see Pontiac in there at all. So are some manufactures hidden also?

I only play FPS games on pc, console shooters are for casual gamers I wouldnt say cod BO is a great hit also. If you go by fans reactions you would assume black ops and gt5 both suck. Ppl just complain way to much nowadays.

I have to say as far as the FPS, I liked the new MOH better as far as game play. But it was way to short of a game, and there was no good story line or end goal. I like how the game follows a story line in COD, but like the actuall game play of MOH better.

I played GT5 for several hours last night. Its getting better. I found a new favorite track. The one with the big ass rising circle/corkscrew. Can't remember the name but I think it was the final race on the "Clubman" championship.

I just bought Forza 1 on ebay for $7.50 shipped so I can race the CL. Great deal in my opinion. I also have Forza 2 and 3 but they lack the CL

 

Yes I agree, the CLS quality sucks, I expected much more from an Acura!

But the game is pretty good!

Im a little disappointed. especially if you cant even change the wheels? thats just stupid. Forza has so much more to offer on simulation and customization and thats what sells me. the best of both worlds.

 

You can't change the wheels? Are you sure?

 

You cant do any exterior mods to standard models. Both CLs are standard models.
