OMG Check this out!

So I noticed over the last week or so my car when accelerating slowly slips from 2nd to 3rd gear...tac revs up but no acceleration..this has happened 3 times in past week..i call my local dealer....he said to bring it in to test drive --I told him I cannot guarantee it will do it when he drives so he put me on hold a second and then said he will order me a new transmission. I was like...errr...OK --I had them look at the tranny at like 7500 miles and they said it was ok...do you think they may have noticed something then and put a note in my file? This seemed way to easy to get the tranny replaced although I am happy that they are replacing it....overall my experience with the dealer has been good. Is it possible that acura could be having that many problems with trannies blowing up that they are instructing dealers to replace on first complaint?

What dealer did you go to? About time a dealer takes the proactive approach instead of waiting until your tranny is completely shot.

Perhaps they ran his VIN and saw that it was an early production run and thought they might as well replace 'cause chances are the transmission was a faulty one?

I had the same type of response from my dealer. I took the car to them, and they said they would just replace it after telling them how the car was acting. I went to Acura of Ocean in NJ

I've had this problem too recently.. tho. .i'm not sure if it's because of all the heat, or what. rev's will shoot from around 2K upwards of 4500 and not produce any acceleration.. I haven't really been paying all that much attention but.. i'm thinking that if it happens again.. i'll have it checked out.
